Al Jardine's Family & Friends Beach Band Concert--May 28, 2000

Al Jardine's Family & Friends Beach Band
Great America, Santa Clara, CA
May 28, 2000

With BRI's lawsuit still pending, Al Jardine continued to tour as "Al Jardine's Family & Friends Beach Band". This was the first venue at which this name was used. This concert features what may be the first performance of "Wild Honey" sung by Matt Jardine. Craig Copeland was absent; Randell Kirsch of Papa Doo Run Run filled in.

Of the brevity of the setlist, Kenny "Ace" Moore notes: "Short set because of fireworks after. I got the set list from Al. They were to do 3 other songs: Come Go With Me, Heroes & Villians, Barbara Ann."

It seems that "Kokomo" and "Shut Down" were purposely cut from the setlist and were not to be performed that night. On a Beach Boys message board, Melinda Love (Mike's daughter) noted that she had talked with a band member and he/she had mentioned that they might do "The Trader" or "Breakaway", but apparently those had to be cut too.
