LIST JUMPERS

THESE ARE PEOPLE WHO TAKE NAMES FROM OTHER PEOPLES LISTS, THINKING THAT JUST BECUASE THE OTHER PERSON HAS THESE NAMES, SO CAN THEY.... THIS IS WRONG. YOU MUST TAKE THE TIME TO ASK THESE PEOPLE PERSONALLY, IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE ON YOUR LIST.
ASK BEFORE TAKING SOMEONES NAME, AND PUTTING IT
ON YOUR LIST.
(They may not want to be on your list. Find out first.)

SOLUTION
NEVER ASSUME, THAT JUST BECAUSE A PERSON WRITES TO YOU ONCE OR TWICE, ASKING A QUESTION, OR FOR WHATEVER REASON, IT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO ADD THEM TO YOUR LIST.....OR VICE VERSA. IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO WRITE A SINGLE E-MAIL WITH MULTIPLE OUTGOING ADDRESSES, ASKING THOSE PEOPLE IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE ON YOUR LIST, TO RESPOND TO YOU. AND AS EACH ONE COMES IN, ADD IT TO YOUR ADDRESS LIST.. THIS IS A GOOD WAY TO FIND OUT, WHO REALLY WANTS TO BE ON YOUR LIST ALSO.
IT IS WRONG TO DO IT FROM A REPLY-ALL LIST. THOSE PEOPLE ARE ALREADY OUTRAGED FOR RECEIVING AN E-MAIL THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH, (i have seen lists with up to 200 names) AND YOUR RESPONSE WILL BE OF LESSER VALUE. BETTER RESULTS ARE ACHIEVED BY TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE A NICE LETTER.
Treat your E-Mail, and your Internet Friends, the same way you would do it
in real life.
Things will run smoother, and you'll have more internet friends.

WHEN YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL FROM SOMEONE THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW, DO NOT HIT THE REPLY ALL BUTTON YOURSELF. ANSWER THAT PERSON BY HITTING REPLY ONLY, AND ASK TO BE TAKEN OFF THAT LIST. AND ATTACH THE E-MAIL THAT PERSON JUST SENT YOU, WITH YOUR E-MAIL. SAVE THE MAIL SENT TO YOU, AND THE ONE YOU SENT, INCASE, THAT PERSON RETALIATES. AT WHICH TIME YOU CAN REPORT IT TO ABUSE@WEBTV.NET IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF EACH ONE WOULD SEND AN E-MAIL WITH ITS ATTACHMENT, TO THAT ONE PERSON THAT STARTED IT ALL..

ABUSE IS NOT SPAM AND SPAM IS NOT ABUSE:

Spam is the repeated sending of unsoliceted E-Mails to
any one, or various persons.
If you respond with the Reply-all button, you are now spaming also.
Abuse is when someone threatens you, or uses abusive language
towards you, or anyone else.
Threat is a very fine line word in these cases. Be Carefull
Each of the above must be reported to their respective E-Mail addresses
of their respective ISP.
In other words report it to the ISP from where the E-Mail came from.

OVER LOADED E-MAIL
THIS IS THE TYPE OF E-MAIL THAT COMES TO YOUR BOX, AND TAKES FOREVER TO OPEN UP....
REASON!
SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THEIR E-MAIL PAGE IS THEIR HOMEPAGE. BELIEVE ME, IT IS NOT! I'VE HAD E-MAILS THAT TAKE UP TO 10 MINUTES TO OPEN UP. I HAVE SEEN E-MAILS WITH UP TO 8 AUDIO SCOPES, ONE OR TWO LARGE GIFS OR JPGS, AND A RAM PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND, (rams, will also slow down your e-mail, somewhat.) ALONG WITH TWO OR THREE MORE ANIMATED GIFS, AND TWO OR THREE SPEAKERS AT THE BOTTOM, THAT YOU CAN CLICK ON INCASE YOU DON'T LIKE THE MUSIC THAT'S PLAYING.... NOW THAT'S RIDICULOUS, AND YOU WONDER WHY, IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO BRING UP YOUR E-MAIL PAGE WHEN -YOU- WANT TO WRITE A LETTER.... YOU ARE NOT ONLY OVER LOADING YOURSELF, YOU ARE OVER LOADING THE PERSON THAT YOU ARE SENDING IT TOO....
SOLUTION
GO TO ONE OF THE SERVERS THAT OFFER FREE HOME SITES FOR INTERNET USERS. THERE YOU CAN MAKE YOURSELF A KILLER PAGE, AND PUT A LINK FROM YOUR E-MAIL TO YOUR HOMEPAGE. IF YOU CAN WRITE HTML IN YOUR E-MAIL, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM MAKING A HOMEPAGE.. IF YOUR FRIENDS ARE INTERESTED, THEY WILL CLICK ON YOUR LINK, AND GO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOMEPAGE.

THESE ARE MY SUGGESTIONS FOR GOOD HOMEPAGE SERVERS.... TRIPOD, GEOCITIES, ANGELFIRE, XOOM, WBS.NET.... IN THAT ORDER.... CHECK THEM OUT, AND FIND WHAT SUITS YOUR NEEDS....
ANOTHER E-MAIL LOADER
ONE MORE THING THAT WILL OVER LOAD YOUR E-MAIL, ESPECIALLY THE PERSON RECEIVING IT, IS THE SENDING OF MULTIPLE FORWARDS. IN THIS CASE I HAVE SEEN UP TO 12 AND 14 FORWARDS ON ONE E-MAIL.... AGAIN, PRETTY RIDICULOUS....(one or two forwards per e-mail is good for sending.)
SOLUTION
LEARN TO CUT AND PASTE. SEND OUT THE MESSAGE THAT YOU RECEIVED WITH A SHORT NOTE STATING HOW YOU RECEIVED IT, AND FROM WHO.... INCORRECTLY WRITTEN HTML IN YOUR SIGNATURE BOX, WILL ALSO HAVE A TENDENCY TO SLOW DOWN THE OPENING OF MAIL.. SOLUTION FOR THIS IS: MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE PROPER TAGS IN THE PROPER PLACES WITH THEIR PROPER INSERTS, SUCH AS FORWARD SLASHES / DOTS . AND LESS THEN AND MORE THEN SIGNS. (left and right arrows)....
ONE MORE THING
CLEANING UP YOUR SENT AND DISCARDED MAIL WILL ALIEVIATE SOME OF THE "SLOWNESS" IN THE OPENING OF YOUR E-MAIL.
SPAM.... WHAT IS IT?
Spam Aptly named after the puzzling, unwanted meat product, spam (as in "scam" or "sham") is Net-speak for unsolicited junk email. Spammers love email because it costs next to nothing to send so they can harass the world with limitless buy-this-stuff email (usually selling smut or a program that generates more spam). Spammers will often offer you the option of removing yourself from their emailing list. But more often than not they use non-functioning return email addresses or anonymous remailers so it's difficult to staunch their ever-steady flow (though recent legislation has been passed outlawing this behavior). However you're not helpless: Tools like spam-filter programs and a spam-abuse hotline (spam.abuse.net) do provide recipes for cooking spam.
