BELLE DORA GREER Dies,
Services Are Conducted
At Spice Valley Church

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Spice Valley Baptist Church for BELLE DORA GREER, who died Monday at her home in the Spice Valley neighborhood. The Rev. Albert Evans and the Rev. Otto L. Duncan officiated at the services. Mrs Greer was born September 12, 1868 to DAVID and EMILY NUGENT TANKSLEY. She was married in November of 1894 to CHARLIE GREER. She was a member of the Spice Valley Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, a son, LAWRENCE GREER of Spice Valley, two daughters, Mrs RUTH WALTON of Martinsville and Mrs GRACE COMBS of Bedford, Mrs Viola Massey and Mrs Ida Walters, both of Mitchell, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Burial took place in the cemetary adjoining the church where services were held. The Haverly Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.

CHARLES GREER, 82
Succumbs at Home

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. for CHARLES GREER, 82, at the Spice Valley Baptist Church. Mr GREER died at his home at 3 a.m. Monday in the Stonington community. He had been in failing health for the past 2 years. The Rev. Otto Duncan, pastor of the Mt Horeb Baptist Church, officiated, and burial was in the Spice Valley Baptist Church cemetery. Mr Greer was born in Lawrence County May 8, 1873, the son of JESSE and MARY JANE STACKHOUSE GREER. In 1894 he was married to BELLE TANKSLEY, who preceded him in death on March 10, 1953. They made their home in the Spice Valley Church community until 1953 when Mr GREER moved to Stonington. Mr GREER was a member of the Spice Valley Baptist Church. The survivors are one son, LAWRENCE GREER, of Bono Township, two daughters, Mrs RUTH WALTON of Martinsville, Mrs, GRACE COMBS of Bedford, 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

JOHN GREER, aged 16 years, son of Mr and Mrs POSEY GREER, who reside near the Edwards School house, died at 3:10 p.m. at the Dunn Hospital in Bedford Sunday following an operation which showed a ruptured appendix. Undertaker Haverly went to that city and brought the body back to his undertaking parlors on West Main Street taking it to the home that evening. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. A. Sanders at the Spice Valley Church Tuesday morning at 10:30. Burial was at Spice Valley Cemetery.

Rites For POSEY GREER
Held at Spice Valley Baptist Church Sunday

Funeral services were conducted at the Spice Valley Baptist Church on Sunday for POSEY GREER, who died Friday at his home at 423 Warren Street here. The Rev. Jarret Ragan, pastor of the church, officiated. Mr. GREER, a farmer, was born in Marion Township on August 12, 1880, the son of JESSE and MARY JANE STACKHOUSE GREER. In February of 1902, he was married to Miss LILLIE HEAD, who survives. Until 12 years ago Mr GREER lived three miles west of Mitchell. He was a member of the church from which services were held. In addition to his wife, Mr GREER is survived by two sons, CHARLIE GREER of Muncie and JESSE GREER of Bedford, three daughters, Mrs BLANCHE WAINSCOTT of South Bend, Mrs RUBY VANMETER of Knoxville Tennessee, and Mrs HELEN MARIE HENDERSON of Mitchell, two brothers, THEODORE GREER and CHARLES GREER, both of Mitchell, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Burial took place at Spice Valley Cemetery, with the Haverly Mortuary in charge of funeral arrangements.

Rites Held on Sunday
At Spice Valley For
Mrs THEODORE GREER

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Spice Valley Baptist Church for Mrs LULA GREER, with the Rev, Otto L Duncan pastor of the Huron Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs GREER died Friday night at the home here in Mitchell. The daughter of EDWARD E and EMMA E MURPHY ALEXANDER, she was born June 5, 1882 in Lawrence County. In young womanhood she was married to THEODORE GREER, who survives. Other survivors include several brothers and sisters. Mrs GREER had been ill for some time prior to her death.She had lived in Mitchell for about 30 years. Burial took place in the Spice Valley Cemetery with the Ochs Funeral Home of Orleans in charge of funeral details.
