The Gate stands 9.6 feet tall  and looks awesome. This is a list of materials we used:

3 - 4x8 sheets of 1/2 inch Plywood.

3 - Sheets of 1 inch Styrofoam.

6 -  Hinges

1-2 - tubes of Liquid Nails

Paint:    Gray - Black - Brown

The columns are 3 sided and notched up top to fit the arch. These pictures should be self explanatory.

Here you see us placing the stencil for the top arch of the cemetery gate. we drew it out and used a jigsaw to cut it out.

Here is picture of the gate primed gray. That is Roger and me sitting under it drinking a beer after a days work.

With the gate primed. Brake up the Styrofoam into different shapes (trying to resemble a rock gate) with the Liquid Nails glue Styrofoam to the columns. Them paint it to resemble an old gate. We used gray, black white and brown. you can also add some green (to look like moss is growing on it) bill.jpg (1073761 bytes)
