LITTLE ERNIE MENT-WELL

Little Ernie Mentwell was not his real
name, but for the longest time, Ernie Donaldson
thought it was.

You see, every time little Ernie tryed to
do something right, it almost always turned
out wrong, and someone always said;
" Little Ernie ment well!"

Little Ernie loved to help around the house,
but sometimes he was just too eager to But, little Ernie ment well!

One day little Ernie saw a big spider
crawling on the kitchen window. He knew
mother would be frightened if she saw it
he rolled up a news paper, just like he
watched father do many times before.

He aimed it at the spider, and swung it as
hard as he could.
SMASH! The window shattered into
many pieces! But, little Ernie ment well!

On Saturdays, little Ernie helped Father with
his chores. One day Father needed a rope to
bundle up the newspapers. Litttle Ernie knew
just where to find some!

Hanging from the pole that mother's clothes
line was attached to was a rope. Little
Ernie pulled and pulled untillSPLAT!
All of mother's clean clothes fell to the
muddy ground, but, little Ernie ment well!

Little Ernie loved shopping days! After
all the groceries were packed, Mother
always let little Ernie have a ride on the
carousel in the front the store.

Little Ernie couldn't wait for his ride! He
thought that if he helped bag the groceries
the time would go faster.

But, when he picked up the big bottle of
apple juice, it sliped out of his hand and
landed right on top of the carten of eggs!
Splash! Splot! The bottle broke and the
eggs were all crushed! But, little Ernie
ment well!

Little Ernie couldn't eat a meal without
spilling something. Evertime he set the
table he always dropped something. But,
little Ernie ment well!

Although Little Ernie ment well and tried
to be god, He felt bad abouat himself.
One day mother found little Ernie crying
in his room.
"I'm a bad boy!" HE sobbed

Mother knew Litter Ernie ment well.
She put her arms around him and told said
;"You are not a bad boy! You just make
mistakes.Everyone makes mistakes. We learn
from our mistakes. You are not bad, you
are just learning!" Mother knew litle
Ernie ment well and gave him a big hug!

Little Ernie felt much better about
himself! As he grew older, he still
did some things wrong, but he learned
how to do alot of things right!

The most importiant lesson he learned
was that even when he did make mistakes,
Mother and Father still loved him and
understood that little Ernie ment well!
