Reflections and More

Psalms 8:3-4, "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?"

This is a group of born-again Christian ladies who aim for a deeper walk with the Lord. This means we encourage, edify, and study both preferences and convictions according to God's word. We are basically a list of women who homeschool, allow God to plan our families, dress modestly, and aim to submit to God, and our husbands. We do hold firm convictions based on the word of God and desire to obey God's will, not man's will. We realize ladies may not always agree, but we don't want to debate these issues. Sincere questions are appreciated and we desire to fellowship with you and help you when we can. We pray we don't offend, and if someone is feeling offended we pray they would show charity to the poster and not let a difference of opinion get personal. We desire to extend grace while standing firm on the word of God as our guideline in our personal spiritual walk and life.

Personal Works

Our Family Constitution

We are a family.

We will be loyal to God first, then to one another, then to friends.

We will trust God to guide us each and every day.

We will honor God's law and the House Rules.

We will remember to be helpful and friendly to our family members.

We will treat our family members with kindness, with courtesy, with love, with forgiveness, with gentleness, with good humor.

We will not tease, agitate, aggravate or otherwise cause anger, heartache , or impatience.

We will be careful what we say to each other and about each other.

We will not be jealous of another's good fortune.

We will not touch anyone's property without asking permission.

We will respect each other's privacy, conversations, opinions, and quiet times.

We will comfort one another, pray for one another, praise one another.

We will take pride in each other's accomplishments, and we will share in each other's pain and sad times.

We will say please, and thank you , and bless you.

We will say yes or no ma'am or sir to parents and other elders.

We will love God first, then each other.

We will remember we are all God's childern.

We will ask God's forgiveness every day, and each other's forgiveness.

We will forgive one another.

Dirty Dishes

Dear Lord, when I stand at my sink, with the dishpan full of hot, soapy water and a stack of dirty dishes, pots and pans staring me in the face, I sometimes feel so disheartened. What a miserable, lowly chore dishwashing seems to be. Then Your sweet Spirit envelopes me, and Your voice whispers to my heart. Each plate was used by a member of my precious family. They each were at my table, talking and enjoying the meal. They are good eaters. They are healthy. They made it to the table with no assistance. Thank You for their strong bodies. Thank You that they are here and not lost, wandering, or running away. And be with the ones who are no longer at my table.

Thank You for once again supplying food to put on the plates. You have never let us go hungry. Thank You even for the very plates, pots and pans, even the stove, kitchen, and table we used for the meal. We have so much and take it all for granted so often. When You walked the earth, you didn't even have a pillow on which to lay Your head. Even today, many people do not have what my family has. You have given us so much!

So now, as I face the dishes and the soapy water, I have the joy of Your Spirit. I thank You and praise You for these dirty dishes. And I thankYou for revealing Yourself to me again.

After the Storm
It's morning and I'm up with the sun.
A new day has just begun.
The children are still deep in dreams
As through the clouds come the first sunbeams.

The sounds I hear, I've heard before.
A barking dog, a slamming door.
A neighbor starting up his car.
The singing birds, both near and far.

An electric clock, faithfully humming.
The refrigerator quietly running.
The rhythmic ticking of the clock in the hall
Where it marks the time from there on the wall.

The storm that raged last night is gone.
The clouds are peaceful now at dawn.
The wind, the rain, the terrible lightning.
The claps of thunder that were so frightening

If storms of life could pass this way.
If they but lasted for a day.
If peace could come with morning light
And wipe away the storms of night.

How simple would our journeys be.
How easy if we just could see
The battle end with morning sun,
Just as the new day has begun.

But if our battles ended thus,
Then in our God we would not trust.
We would not turn to Him and pray
For peace and guidance every day.

We would not call on His great power
To be with us in that dark hour.
And so some battles still rage on
Until our God supplies the dawn.

Someone Prayed
Someone prayed for me today.
I could feel God's arms around me.
I could feel Him lift my spirit,
As I felt His love surround me.

Someone prayed for me today.
They asked God's intercession.
They plead the blood of Jesus.
They prayed for His sweet blessing.

Someone prayed for me today.
Their prayers were not unheard.
The Lord of all did listen.
His Spirit in me stirred.

Someone prayed for me today.
Now I thank the Lord above,
For the prayers of faithful people
Who offer prayers with love.

Someone prayed for me today.
In that prayer there was power.
So I'll pray that God will bless them
And lead them every hour.

Someone prayed for me today.
I know not who it was.
But their prayers have safely kept me
From Satan's hungry jaws.

Someone prayed for me today.
So now I'll lift them up.
Lord, stay close by their side
And overflow their cup.
