"So," Nyx said, rubbing her hands together eagerly. "What kind of chaos can we cause?"

"None," Susanne answered evenly. Nyx stared at her incredulously. "Everyone's going to have a hell of a time finding each other. There's no Game going on right now, so the Council is not gathered, there's no surveilance, no Guardians."

"No Guardians? You didn't even bring Roger back with you?"

"I don't need to bring Roger back with me. But that's right, our Guardians, even if they are alive at this point, don't know that they're our Guardians." Nyx was silent at this. "And can you feel the others, anyway?"

Nyx looked around. "Gods..." she whispered.

"Whatever alerts us to each others presence when we get near each other must be somehow triggered, sort of, when the Game begins. I can feel your presence as an immortal--"

"--but I can only feel another Otaku nearby if I concentrate very hard. If I didn't know better, I'd think the nearest Otaku was at least a mile away."

"I didn't count on this, but I'm sort of glad for the degree of anonymity."

"Anonymity my ass. Celly will figure it out soon enough, you know."

Susanne shrugged and began walking down the hill. "I'm going to listen to the music for awhile. I hope I haven't missed Country Joe and the Fish."
