Jean Louis BODIN was a seaman on the ship
Le Bon PaPa, first and smallest of the seven
ships to sail from France to the Louisiana
Territories, where the immigrants were to settle.
The couple met on the voyage to Louisiana and
fell in love. They were married on 28 Feb 1787
at St. Gabriel Church, St. Gabriel, LA
