My first experience with the the BLUES was about 20 years ago. What
introduced me to the BLUES you ask?? My all time favorite band LED
ZEPPELIN!! I'll tell you, Robert Plant could howl the BLUES and Jimmy
Page could make his guitar do things that did not seem possible. At this
point, I dug into Zeppelin's roots and found out what influenced
them into playing the amazing music that they play. That was it, the
more I learned, the more I listened!! As time passed, my love for the
BLUES grew strong.
I used to watch a friend play in southern Cali years ago, her name is
Maggie. Her band was Maggie and the Midnight 30 and again this just
fueled my car of BLUES (Maggie, if you're out there drop me a line!!)
Another friend shared my love for the BLUES, his name,
John Heatley. We grew up together in Rialto Ca. and I watched this
12 year old kid who carried his drum sticks everywhere,
turn into the incredible drummer that he is today. His first band
EMERALD CUTT grew over the 10 or so years they were together...incredible
stuff!! John knew my love was strong, everytime I would come back to
town John would set up a gig. Derrick, Jack, Gina, John and Nacho...
EMERALD CUTT reunites!!! What's up?? COMMON GROUND, John's new band,
I wish you the best!!
From Robert Johnson to new comers such as Kenny Wayne Sheppard and
everyone in between...I THANK YOU. When you can "feel" the pain, the
sorrow, the joy of the people playing the music...you have achieved
a true BLUES link, so come with me into the world of BLUES and check
out the links below.
