Date: Tue, 17 May 94 09:59:07 -0700 From: Ministry of Truth To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Embraced Cats (Not Too Serious) Just a little light entertainment derived from something that turned up in a Sabbat Chronicle that I am running. For the rules lawyers out there don't take it too seriously, the cat in question is special (and come to think of it so are most of the participants in the chronicle ;) Albert is a rather large, somewhat lazy, tabby cat owned by a 10th generation Malkavian (not antitribu) who runs with a pack of sabbat. He started out life as a normal cat, and then was ghouled so that he wouldn't get old and leave his mentor alone (she can't live without Albert around). Then to complicate things the leader of the Sabbat pack bound a spirit that he had summoned into the body of Albert so that he could keep an eye on Livian (the Malkie) without her knowing about it. This was fine until the spirit (his name is Oxalis) decided that he wanted slightly more power than was currently possible in his present restricted form. So he/she/it engineered a plan to get Albert embraced, which basically consisted of injuring the body and getting most of the blood drained out and then having Livian feed some of her own blood to Albert. This worked fine and we now have a cat that has been embraced with neither Livian or the Sabbat pack leader being any the wiser. As a result Albert gained some of Livian's disciplines, and because Albert/Oxalis gets really bored as a cat he/she/it has started working on a new discipline, Felinus. Which is really just a way of explaining some of the more inexplicable of Albert/Oxalis's behaviour. To make this letter really long I thought that I would give you all a list of Albert/Oxalis's stats and stuff as well as a brief description of Felinus....:) House Cat - Albert/Oxalis Weight: 15lbs Strength: 2 Charisma: 2 (Oxalis) Perception: 4 Dexterity: 5 Intelligence: 4 Manipulation: 3 (*) Stamina: 3 Appearance: 0/3 (Humans/Cats) Wits: 3 (*) You always wondered how cats could get you to do stuff for them :) Nature: Conniver (Cats are masters at finding the 'easier way' to do things) Demeanour: Jester (Yes I really do do this just to amuse you, Livian) Talents: Skills: Alertness 5 Stealth 5 Athletics 3 Survival 2 Brawl 4 Climbing 5 (trees) Dodge 5 Hunting 2 Acting 1 (oww, I've hurt my paw please carry me *sad look*) Empathy 3 (I can see you need something warm and fluffy to cuddle up to and make you feel better.) Intimidation 1 (no this is my rat, bugger off) He probably has some other skills, talents and knowledges as Oxalis, but none of them really come into play so I left them out.... Willpower: 5 Health: OK, -1, -1, -2, -5, (Lose one of nine lives :) Attack: One die, and a major distraction. Virtues: Self-Control 4 (Cats are very restrained except when young or horny) Courage 5 (Mainly concerning threats to Livian) Conscience 1 (Doesn't really care what people think) Backgrounds: Allies 1 (Livian) Herd 3 (Scads of rats and birds and incautious dogs ;) Blood Pool: 10 Technically cats should only be able to contain one blood point, but Albert/Oxalis only uses small amounts to power his disciplines and therefore has the usual 10 maximum. Disciplines: Animalism 1 (So that he can talk to other animals) Auspex 1 (Heightened Senses) Celerity 1 (Cats can move quickly they just never seem to be in a rush) Fortitude 3 Obfuscate 2 (You can never find a cat when you need one, unless you happen to be carrying anything they would consider food at the time) Presence 2 (Everyone he meets loves him. 'Awww he's so cuuuuuuute.") Protean 1 (Just for the red eyes in the dark *snicker*) Felinus 4 (His own style) Felinus: o Detect Any Person Who Has Even Allergy To Cats Derived from Auspex, allows Albert to instantly detect any being that is allergic to cats..... :) This power functions continuously. oo Shed Piles Of Really Annoying Fur At Will Allows Albert to shed some of his fur at will onto any nearby target. Usually used in concjunction with the first level power....*evil grin* This power functions semi-continuously :) ooo Be Underfoot At The Most Inconvenient Time Possible Derived from Celerity and Obfuscate, allows Albert to pseudo-teleport himself directly underfoot whenever he desires. (You always wondered how a seemingly empty hallway became chock full of cats when you are trying to carry the week's shopping home :) oooo Land Safely When Dropped From A Great Height. Derived from Fortitude, allows the cat to land on all four paws (regardless of dropping orientation) and take no damage when dropped or fallen. As an aside, there was an interesting scientific experiment conducted by the Sabbat the other day. As you all know, if a piece of toast is buttered and jammed, and then dropped it will land jammy side down. And if a cat is dropped it will always land feet first. They decided to tape a piece of toast to the back of a cat, so that they could see which way up the cat would land....(more silliness from the people who brought you the SanctumMatic (a very silly portable temple for AD&D)). Weeell, that's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Any comments, etc feel free to mail me about them.
