Even with out LIGHTS.... 2008 State Meet was a huge success!!!!
The Ohio State Meet held on March 29th and 30th at Austintown Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio was a huge success. Thank you Ron Ferris and staff at OGI for running a great State Meet!!! It was great to see all the coaches pull together to move equipment during the "Black Out".

NEW!!!! Men's JO Rules Update #12a
It has been pointed out that the tucked flyaway was never listed on any event in any previous code of points. Therefore, there has been a slight change to the verbiage in the "deliberate dismount" statement in the table on page two. Otherwise there are no changes from Update #12 to #12a.

Recent Update #11 does not clarify that the FIG Table of Deductions
Optional levels 8, 9, and 10: (Small error - 0.1, Medium error - 0.3, Large error - 0.5, and Fall - 0.8)
Compulsory levels 4 - 7: (Small error - 0.1, Medium error - 0.2, Large error - 0.3, and Fall - 0.5)
For Judging purposes, this season in particular, it will be very important to record deductions with (S, M, L, Alphabetical notation and sub in the correct numeric value when calculating final score.

Men's JO Rules Update #11
For immediate Implementation – The Men's Junior Olympic Program Committee, at their September 21, 2007 meeting, voted to adopt a proposal to go to modified FIG open scoring for the Age Group Competition Program for Levels 8, 9 and 10. This Rules Update #11 is for the 2007–2008 competitive season and incorporates all of the rule changes made since the adoption of this proposal. By moving to an FIG Open Scoring program our junior program was able to greatly reduce the number of exceptions to the FIG rules. For this reason many of the optional sections contained in the previous update (#10, dated January 30, 2007) have been eliminated as they are no longer applicable. Please note that there have been no changes for the compulsory levels 4, 5, 6, and 7 other than to use the FIG tables for behavioral and apparatus violations. This update, along with the other written materials noted in this update, constitute all of the rules for the 2007-2008 competitive season.

Future Stars Championship
November 8-11, U.S. Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Col. Make your Regional Future Stars Evaluation go smoother by completing your athlete’s National Future Stars Entry Form and Olympic Training Center forms ahead of time, having them ready to submit to the Regional Chairman if your athlete qualifies. Please note that all coaches participating in the Future Stars National Championships must submit Olympic Training Center forms as well; however, coaches do not need to complete the Athlete Medical Questionnaire.

State Meeting Conference Call
A quick reminder that we have a conference call scheduled for August 5th, 2007 at 7 PM. If you plan on participating in the call, please contact Ron Ferris via E-mail(Teamogi@aol.com)or phone to confirm. We have set up the conference call for a maximum of 20 participants and can add more if need be, but will need to do so by the 3rd of August. I will get an agenda out to those who confirm. Here are some of the topics we need to discuss:
1). State Championship Bids (all bids need to be in ASAP - none have been received at this point - the area of rotation is West Central & North West Ohio)
2). Open ended scoring system for Levels 8 through 10
