Hanson is three brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zachary. They are a band who writes and performs their own music. They are from Tulsa, Oklahoma. They got started 5 years ago. Their parents had taught them to sing around the dinner table, and then they began to perform in the local Tulsa area, at parties and at functions. They also all began to play the piano, and other instruments as well. Isaac plays the guitar and keyboards, Taylor plays the keyboards and drums and Zac plays the drums and piano. Taylor is the main singer, but the other two have leads as well.

To contact the boys, go to the Contact page for more info. The boys did have a personal e-mail account, but it was unfortunately terminated

Apart from the boys, there are also three younger Hansons, Jessie (8), Avie (6) and Mac (3).

They started five years ago, when Zac was only six, and Ike wrote his first song at the tender age of 9, when he was in 3rd grade! They write all their own music, with a bit of help from other artists, and they have released two other albums, Boomerang (1995) and MMMBop (May, 1996). Taylor sings lead in all the songs except for three. Zac sings lead in "Lucy" and "Man from Milwaukee," while Ike sings lead in "A Minute Without You." However, the other two do have solos in some of the other songs.

They have been performing regionally (in Tulsa) since 1992. After being rejected by 12 recording labels, Mercury Records spotted them outside the Blue Rose Café, and they were finally signed up in 1996.

They then temporaritly moved to Hollywood in July, 1996, to begin prodcing the forthcoming album, "Middle of Nowhere," which contains the hit single "MMMBop*". They stayed in Hollywood until November, 1996. The songs in "Middle of Nowhere" aren’t the same as the ones on the original "MMMBop" album recorded in Tulsa. Mercury Records brought in several writers to assist in polishing their material, as it was going to be a National Release. They included Mark Hudson, Ellen Shipley, Desmond Child, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. These people have written songs for people such as Aerosmith, Belinda Carlisle, Bon Jovi and the Righteous Brothers. In all, 4 of the songs are the same as the originals.

The MMMBop video was produced in Los Angeles back in February, 1997. The director Tanmara Davis (Sonic Youth, Amp, Luscious Jackson) took many of Hansons own ideas and added them all together to create a video about friends, the original idea of MMMBop.

On March 24, 1997 "MMMBop" released. It debuted at no. 49 on the Radio and Records chart on March 30, and after six weeks it stands at no. 1. It is also no. 1 on Billboard, and apparently this is Mercury Records first number one single in seven years. The video for the song debuted at No. 16 on the MTV Top 20; it is now no. 5.

The album "Middle of Nowhere" was released in the US on May 6, 1997, and was released world wide during Spring in America.

You can definitely see Hanson on their video on MTV (it was a buzz clip for the week of April 14). And in Canada, on Much Music, where it the No. 1 Choice Cut. For up to date appearance info, go to the Tour Page.
