The Tripe List

http://www.mcs.net/~brentano/tripe/

My bottom lines:

Design: simple HTML text (<h3>'s)not trying to push any edges.
Content: fairly funny, up-to-date general criticism of current events.
Doesn't blow me away, but it's sincerely doing a good thing.

The Tripe List, created by a Diana Stoneberg, and now passed down to a Brent Billock, is a ten-item list of sentence-long rants, culled from the week's current events. Each rant has a link to a relevant outside web-page. The graphics are cute, and much slicker than the page as a whole.

The problem is that it's all stuff we pretty much have figured out anyways. The talk about paparazzis and NPR's decision over Mumia... well, I agree. It's all a bit silly. Done.

You can raise hackles, but inform me about something. Tell me something that I might not know. Or at least say it in a way to make me shout, "Hot damn, Marge, give me my gun! I'm gonna kill me all the whiteys I see!"
