"Harmers"
Jonathan Harmer's Cottage
Old Heathfield, East Sussex
Jonathan Harmer (1762-1849) was a famous potter from Heathfield. His terra cottas
can be found throughout Sussex, primarily in churchyards. His former home, now
known simply as "Harmers" is currently the home of Douglas and Audrey Fowle, who
have very graciously invited Harmers and Harmer descendants to tour their home as
part of our 20th annual reunion on August 8, 1998.
Note "Harmers" on the signpost near the gate and on the wall plaque.
