This is one of the famous grizzly bears of Glacier National Park in Montana. I encountered this
big fellow while backpacking in the summer of 1995. Fortunately he was more interested in digging for
lily bulbs and squirrels than he was in me. In fact, he didn't even see me until several minutes
after I took this photo when he crossed the hiking trail about 100 feet in front of me. After
looking at me for a moment or two, he decided to continue on his way in peace.
