Niagara Falls - November 2005

We took an overnight trip to take both our Mothers to visit the Casinos of Niagara Falls Ontario.

The Fallsview Casino pictured above is one of the two Casinos on the Canadian side of the falls. The Senaca Indians have one on the American side, Senaca Niagara Casino & Hotel.

There is a great view of the falls from the Casino.

The Hydro-Teslatron, located in the Galleria shopping area of the Fallsview Casino, puts on a show of turning Niagara's water into electicity. For more photos of the Teslatron, click here.

We are still big fans of the older Casino Niagara, and since the Fallsview Casino opened, it is less crowded and still our favorite one at the Falls.

Days Inn & Suites by the Falls*****
5068 Centre Street
905-357-2550

We got a good deal on two adjoining suites at the Days Inn & Suites by the Falls. Being that there were five of us, we needed two rooms, and what better than adjoing suites.

The rooms were clean, and the parking was free, which is rare in Niagara Falls. Also included was a continental breakfast buffet, or we could upgrade to a hot breakfast at the little restaurant across the street. The hotel is located just a block or two from the top of Clifton Hill, where it turns into Centre Street, so it is a short walk to the attractions and Casino Niagara. We found the Days Inn & Suites, one of your better hotel deals in the Falls area!

Mama Mia's Restaurant & Tavern *****

5719 Victoria Avenue
905-354-7471

We had an enjoyable lunch, which was our first visit to Mama Mia's Restaurant & Tavern.

The food was good. I had manicotti, which I usually never order Italian food when I'm out. My husband ordered a personal pizza which we didn't see on the menu. I should I call it a garbage pie. Canadians do love their toppings. I'm always happy with one or two. The meatball and hot sausage sandwiches were very good also. They do have special full course dinner selections and also a gourmet dinner for two.
