Yugoslavia Champion in 15th World University
Men's Handball Championship

In the final match the host of the championship
defeated the defender of the title, the national team of Hungary, with the result 34:25
(18:10). The curtain is dropped at the 15th World University Men’s Handball
Championship, where the host and the organizer triumphed, the national team of Yugoslavia.
In an extraordinary beautiful atmosphere, in front of near 5000 spectators, the Yugoslav
national team surprised the defenders of the title, the Hungarian national team in all
elements.
From the beginning Yugoslavians carried by the
frenetic cheering from the crowded, stands played first class, solid and during the most
of the game fluttery, so the opponents could not endanger, not even for a moment their
constant and solid leadership.
The next Students Championship will take place in
Portugal in 2000, and the new World Champions have the reason to be proud of their gold
medal and the brilliant organization of this international spectacle.

Handball Championship the Russian team won over the Turkish team 25:23 (16:11). With this
victory they won the 3rd place and bronze medal.
