INTERNACIONAL HANDBALL TOURNAMENT BM.GRANOLLERS

1.-  PRESENTATION

The BALONMANO GRANOLLERS handball Club, one of the most traditional  Clubs of this sport within Spain, has the pleasure to inform you the celebration of an important International Cup for young handball  players .
During the fitty-five years of history our Club has been working constantly and efficiently with the young to have its own Senior Team, always in the Spanish High Division, and three times champion in the European competition . A team plenty of players who grew within the teams of his handball school. As a price for reconnizing this handball tradition during many years, GRANOLLERS  was named official venue for men and women handball matches of Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. That event brougth an important repercussion to the history of the city, as well as for our Club. We would like to take the opportunity to promote our Sport and increase the handball friends around the world, organising the International Tournament for young players in the same  Olimpic Hall of Granollers. Our city will be proud to offer its hospitality to all visitors and participants.

2.- DATES

As a good and exiciting beginning of your summer holidays, and to help you to forget  schools problems,the GRANOLLERS CUP will take place from TUESDAY 22nd to SATURDAY , 26th of June 1999
 

3.- OFFICIAL INVITATION

The city of GRANOLLERS,with a big and large sport tradition and activity, distanced to Barcelona on 25 KM, and located in an important centre of comunication,as his proximity to the beach as not far away to Barcelona Airport ,with higthway directly to Europe and with two railway station.All his strategic situation makes Granollers as a commercial and industrial city of Catalonia.
The Club BALONMANO GRANOLLERS wants to INVITE you to the International Handall Tournament  GRANOLLERS CUP for young handball players.

4.-    PARTICIPATING CATEGORIES

Any team of Club, as well as some national or regional teams are invited to take part at the GRANOLLERS  CUP .  The following classes of teams are eligible to compete :
 

 5.- INSCRIPTION :

Applications forms will be sent to any interested Club no later than 15th of March 1999, together with the bank deposit receipt in order  to confirm the participation.
Starting fee will be 12.000 Pts. for each team. Payment of of this fee and payment of charges  for accomodation and food must be received by  banker's order to the  BM. Granollers account :

6.- CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Each club must have their own medical insurance.
During the stay in Granollers ,each team must pay for their own travelling , board and lodging costs.
The Organization will be in charge to offer several options for the accomodation of participants in the Granollers area.
Otherwise, any meal during the tournament will be served in the restaurant placed inside the same Olympic Hall in the Tournament.

7.-  LODGINGS AND MEALS

The above prices include two daily meals (except breakfast) in the restaurant of the tournement, starting with  the lunch on Tuesday, 22nd  June and ending with the dinner on Saturday 26th June, including  a total of 10 main meals.
Regarding the lodgings, find here below several options,divided as per the type of accomodation one may prefer.Duration of  the accomodation will be from Tuesday, 22nd  June to Sunday ,27th departure in the morning.
All prices mentioned are per person, and  include both the accomodation and all different activities  the organisation will prepare during the Granollers Cup.

OPTION A: A classroom in  the school. Each team will be provided with a private classroom, and each participant will be required to bring his own mattress and sleeping bag. Breakfast is not included----------11.900.-pts.

OPTION B: A tent belonging the participants. The organisation will provide a camping zone for the participants. Breakfast  is not included----------11.000.-pts.

OPCION  C  :  Camping "EL VEDADO " At 8 Km far from Granollers and 7 Km far from the beach "el MASNOU".Camping of hight category with swimming-pool and all the services. Breakfast is not included----------13.000.-pts.

OPCION D: Youth Hostel to 15 Km and 18 Km far from Granollers and 3 Km far from the beach . Included every day the breakfast----------18.400.-pts

OPCION E: HOTEL **/***   in Granollers. Breakfast included and the lodging----------22.400.-pts

OPCION F: HOTEL ***/**** in Granollers. Breakfast included and the lodging----------25.800.-pts

With this price every participant shall receive a special cap from the organization.

8.- TRAVEL

Granollers has a very good communications system. You can reach the city by train or  highway , and the Barcelona Airport is  only at 45  Km far. In case you are interested,the Organisation can arrange your transfer from the Barcelona airport to Granollers, by bus.

 9.- GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

a.-  Competition system
All the games of all the different categories shall be of TWO times of 20 MINUTES of playing-times. The teams in each series, will be divided into groups of four teams, where all teams play against each other.The 1st and 2nd team in each group will go on to an A-final round,and  the 3rd and 4th  to B-final round.
In both the A and B rounds,the teams will be divided up into groups,where all teams will play against each other.After this in A- final will have semifinals and final matches playing to the cup system.
All the others teams will play for the places 5 to 16 in each series.
All the teams will play a minimum of 6 matches.
Every team will play at maximum with 14 players for all the Granollers Cup.

b.- referees
Any referee interested in taking part at the Granollers Cup should be in possession of the official licence for the season 1998-99. Any enquire should be addressed to the Organisation no later than 1st  April 1999.
Referees who will finally take part at the competition invited by the organization will have free accomodation and board.
Every team participant in the Cup can bring a referee with them invited by the organization.
