Leonardo Da Vinci

Welcome to the Leonardo Da Vinci web page.Leonardo Da Vinci was a really great painter and is known for all his beautiful drawings.

Early Life

Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15,1452. He was the son of Ser Piere and his illegitimate mother Catarina. His father didn't marry Leonardo Da Vinci's real mother because she was the daughter of a farmer and he was a lawyer. Leonardo Da Vinci's father didn't want him to study art because it wasn't a good career, instead he wanted him to become a lawyer.Leonardo Da Vinci lived in Anciano for 5 years,at the age of 14 he moved to Florence and lived with his grandfather. It was there that he began taking art classes from Andrea Verrocchio and he also found time for philosophic studies. When Leonardo Da Vinci's father saw his sons art he was astonished. He approved what he was doing with his life.

The Big Event
In 1473 Da Vinci completed his first known drawing,"La valle dell'Arno"("The Arno Valley). One of  Leonardo Da Vinci's most popular early works,The Adoration of the Magi," was painted in 1481 for the Monastery of San Donato a Scopeto as an altar piece. This work was never finished because he left to Milan, where he offered his services to Duke Ludovico il Moro. In 1486 Da Vinci started to explore human flight  and in 1492,  he designed a flying machine. In 1495 he painted "The Last Supper". I t was in 1504 that he painted the "Mona Lisa", but before that, he had designed war machines and drawn topographical maps in 1502-3. In 1506 Leonardo Da Vinci obtained temporary leave from the Florentine Republic in order to return to Milan, where he had to finish certain projects which he had left incomplete due to his earlier hasty departure. In 1513 he went to Rome to seek patronage of the new pope Leo X. Leonardo Da Vinci's last accomplishment was the design of  a palace in Romorantin in 1517.

How the World Was Changed

Leonardo Da Vinci helped people understand that art wasn't a bad occupation. He served as a good role model for other people that weren't so sure about following what they wanted to do for a career. Leonardo Da Vinci wasn't only a painter, he was also a great person to have in society because he didn't cause that much trouble and he was very independent. Other people should learn from him that they should see no barriers to accomplish what they want to do. Leonardo Da Vinci was also a discoverer that learned new things and then passed them on to other people.
In the End

Leonardo Da Vinci died on May 2, 1519,and was buried in the cloister of San Fiorentino in Amboise.
Conclusion

This project was a little bit difficult because I had trouble finding the information, but at the same time it was fun. What I would do differently next time, is that I would look for more information in different places. The most valuable aspect of this project was that I learned more about the life of Leonardo Da Vinci.
