Mythological Birds

Page designed by: Adrian Nathaniel Moreno

Many cultures around the world have myths or stories about birds, for example some Native American cultures such as the Mayans and Aztecs.  These birds are considered
important to most native cultures; simply for the reasons of life.  Some Mayan groups in Belize believe that if you dishonor the Thunderbird or mock it , that it will leave you with a haunting spirit for all eternity.  As for the Aztecs, the Raven and the Pheonix are their gods of harvest and life. Without either of them they would not be able to survive.
