Drawing Conclusions

Iggy was walking down the hallway when he heard a loud noise from Ludwig’s laboratory.  He peeked through a window to see that Ludwig had a vile of some bubbling solution in his hand, and that Bowser was lying on the floor, apparently in a coma or worse.  Iggy screamed so loudly that his other five siblings came running.  They barged into the laboratory, knocking Ludwig over and spilling the vile, which sizzled on the floor.

“What are you doing?!” demanded Ludwig.

“Saving our father!” replied Iggy.  “Lemmy, you are the smartest of us ‘true’ Koopalings, what should we do?”

Lemmy thought for a minute.  “If I freeze him, the shock will wake him, and then I can unfreeze him.”

“Stop!” insisted Ludwig.  But it was too late. Lemmy had pulled out his freeze gun and had frozen and unfrozen Bowser.  He did not wake up, but some sparks went flying.

Lemmy sighed.  “Your turn, Roy.”

Roy thought for a minute.  “If I jump on him, the sudden pressure will wake him from the coma.”

“Wait!” insisted Ludwig.  But it was too late. Roy had jumped all over Bowser.  He did not wake up, but his arms fell off.

Roy sighed.  “Your turn, Iggy.”

Iggy thought for a minute.  “If I hit him, my strength will be sure to wake him.”

“Halt!” insisted Ludwig.  But it was too late. Iggy had smacked Bowser as hard as he could in the face.  He did not wake up, but there was an explosion.

Iggy sighed.  “Your turn, Wendy.”

Wendy thought for a minute.  “If I throw a tantrum, he will wake up immediately and come to my service.”

“Desist!” insisted Ludwig.  But it was too late. Wendy had dropped to the floor and thrown the loudest tantrum she could.  Bowser did not wake up, but shocks sent through the floor boards knocked off his legs.

Wendy sighed.  “Your turn, Morton.”

Morton thought for a minute.  “If I zap him with a magic wand he will be sure to revive and then he will be well and he will praise me and say I’m good, great, spectacular, super...”

“Yield!” insisted Ludwig.  But it was too late. Morton had zapped Bowser with his wand.  He did not wake up, but flames engulfed his body.

Morton sighed.  “Your turn, Larry.”

Larry thought for a minute.  “If I plant dynamite near him, he will be sure to move before the impact.”

“NO!” insisted Ludwig.  But it was too late. Larry had planted some dynamite and set it off.  Bowser did not wake up, but his head fell off.

Larry sighed.  “I guess we’re up for adoption.”

“You fools!” snapped Ludwig.  “That wasn’t Dad!  It was my robot!  It was going to destroy Mario AND give us lots of dessert!  Now it’s ruined!”  Ludwig glared angrily at his siblings.

“Uh... ta da?” asked Wendy.  They ran out of the laboratory with Ludwig in fast pursuit.
