It is one of our perennial problems, whether there is actually a God. From the Hindu point of view each soul is divine. All religions are branches of one big tree. It doesn't matter what you call Him as long as you call. Just as cinematic images appear to be real but are only combinations of light and shade, so is the universal variety a delusion. The plantery spheres, with their countless forms of life, are naught but figures in a cosmic motion picture. I keep [my religious beliefs] to myself unless somebody askas me about it. But I still feel the same as I felt back in the sixties. I lost touch with the Krishnas when Prabhupada died. I used to go and see the old master, A.C. Bhaktivedanta, quite a lot. He was real good. I'm still involved, but it's something which is more a thing you do inside yourself. You don't actually do it in the road. It's a way of just trying to get in touch with yourself. I still write songs with [Krishna] in there in little bits and pieces. Lots of songs that are unfinished say various things, but maybe I say it in different ways now.
