HERE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

Look at my house
You see two windows and a door
But, if you could see through my eyes
You would see a little something more
Family and friends, and memories that we share
Much more than a house is standing there

Here in my neighborhood
Only a neighbor would really see
Just what my little house has meant to me

My neighborhood store
Is just like all the rest
But, it's quiet and it's convenient
So, to me, it's the very best
It's right there on the corner
It's little, but it's good
That corner store is part of my neighborhood

Here in my neighborhood
Only a neighbor could ever guess
What makes that little store
Such a big success

People walking their dogs
People going to work each day
People coming home again
Knowing that they're gonna stay

Walk down my block
It looks like just another street
But when I go out,
It's filled with friendly faces every meet
Passing the time with friendly neighborly chat
It may look like just another street
But, to me, it's more than that

Here in my neighborhood
Only a neighbor would really know
What makes me come right back each time I go

Here in my neighborhood
Only a neighbor would really see
Just how much my neighbors mean to me

Just how much my neighbors mean to me
