Amateur Radio

I am a amateur radio operator (HAM). My call sign is WJ5K. I was originally licensed in 1985 as a NOVICE class licensee. My original call sign was KA5WBE. In 1986, I passed my test for my EXTRA class license. This is when I got my current call sign, WJ5K.

WJ5K IS BACK ON THE AIR!

This is my new/old Cushcraft ATB-34 Tri-band Antenna. The brave soul on top is KC5ZFY, Thomas Rudy. He is an excellent tower man. This photo was taken Saturday 10-23-99 while getting A.R.S. WJ5K back up and running!

This is my operating position in my radio room.

The equipment is: Yaesu FT-840; Yaesu FT-2200; Heathkit HW-8 Qrp; Drake MN75 Antenna Tunner; MFJ-452 Electronic Keyboard Keyer; Bencher BY-2 Key and Yaesu FT-11 Handi-Talki. The computer is an old Acer with a CTX 17" Monitor. My rotor and controller is a Hygain CD45.
