Synopsis:

Two men, Andius and Danion, follow a treasure map into a cave. They don't know they have entered the minotaur's home, and are surprised when he attacks. The minotaur grabs one man, but the other escapes.

On Hercules' farm, Hercules is plowing. He stops his labor to break up his sons, Klonus and Aeson, from fighting. Hercules tells them that he fought in the past to prevent other people from being hurt. Klonus and Aeson listen as Hercules relates the story of his battle with Eryx the Boxer (Hercules in the Underworld).

After the plowing is done, Hercules puts things away in the barn when Zeus appears. Zeus asks when was the last time Hercules had any fun. Hercules says that it's been a long time since his services were required. Hercules acknowledges that he misses the old days of fighting monsters, but he doesn't mind since he has the perfect life. Zeus then gives Hercules a present: a scale from a sea serpent. Hercules recalls what he had done after the sea serpent had eaten him and Deianeira (Reneé O'Connor; Hercules and the Lost Kingdom).

Later in the evening, Hercules wakes up at the dinner table with one problem: the dog has eaten his dinner. He carries his two sons and daughter, Ilea, up to bed. Ilea asks her father to tell her the story of when he first met her mother (Hercules and the Circle of Fire). Deianeira asks Hercules if he misses the old days of traveling the world and fighting monsters. He says he does.

The next day, Hercules thinks he sees something in the corner of his eye. He finds nothing there, and goes on ahead. Iolaus attacks him, and Iolaus tells Hercules he was on his way to get seed for his farm. The two discuss their farms, and the best way to fertilize the their crops. They realize farming just isn't them and instead discuss the old days when they fought the Hydra (Hercules and the Amazon Women).

Iolaus has Hercules go out to the barn so he can show him some moves he learned from another person in the East. With these moves, Iolaus puts Hercules down on the ground a few times until Deianeira and Ilea interrupt Iolaus' show. Deianeira tells Hercules that all the noise woke up Ilea. Hercules takes Ilea and leaves to put her back to bed.

Deianeira tells Iolaus that she's glad he's present. She tells him that Hercules has become very distracted as of late. He's going stir crazy because he can't get out of the house. Iolaus admits that he knows what that's like. He never thought it would so difficult to be a father and a mother. Deianeira tells him that Ania would be very proud of him.

A man runs up looking for Hercules, saying that the minotaur got his brother. He needs Hercules to come to Alturia and help out his brother. Hercules refuses him, but Deianeira convinces Hercules that he should go.

As Hercules and Iolaus travel towards Alturia, they reminisce about Hercules' battle with Gargan the Giant (Hercules and the Lost Kingdom). Along the way, the two hear a call for help. In reality, it's really Zeus hiding in a bush playing a joke on them. He teases the duo about the fact that they have settled down (and we see a flashback to Hercules and the Circle of Fire.)

Hercules and Iolaus are told that they've been acting like kids since they've had kids. Hercules retorts, asking if the fact they have kids is funny. Iolaus tells Zeus that it's not so funny when you change them and they spray in your face. Hercules says that he didn't remember the ground being so hard while Iolaus asks Zeus why he created bugs. Zeus simply says that birds like to eat them, then invites them to a party Hades is hosting. Hercules and Iolaus have to decline, as they have to defeat a monster that is terrorizing Alturia. Zeus warns them, saying he wouldn't go there since the food isn't all that great.

Two young lovers meet near the minotaur's cave to plan their running away together when the minotaur suddenly captures them both. He puts the two in cocoons and applies a green goo on their faces. He says he will be the next ruler of the world, and that they will come back refreshed and ready to do exactly as he plans.

Hercules and Iolaus arrive in Alturia and ask about the minotaur. A woman replies that the two brothers, Andius and Danion, are crazy and that Hercules and Iolaus came looking for nothing. After hearing this, Hercules offers to buy Iolaus a drink at the local tavern.

The minotaur is pleased by the arrival of Hercules, and he plans to teach him some lessons on humiliation and death. Zeus drops by to see the minotaur, and sees nothing has changed. The minotaur has now learned to live on hate. Zeus threatens to destroy him, but can't bring himself to. The minotaur tells Zeus he wants the king of the gods to live with as much pain and hate as he had to live with.

The heroic duo order their drinks at the tavern, and a woman asks them their names. She is unimpressed at the mention of Hercules, and Hercules and Iolaus learn that several Hercules' drop by here every week in Alturia. Iolaus tells the woman about Pithus, who came from Gargarensia, seeking Hercules' help with 'beasts' that were attacking their village (Hercules and the Amazon Women).

A thug walks up wanting to fight this so-called Hercules. Hercules tells Iolaus to use the moves he learned in the East on the thug, and Iolaus obliges. The thug is knocked out and another one takes his place, then everyone tries to get in on the fight. Iolaus is knocked unconscious when a chair is slammed into his head. Hercules finishes the fight solo, and returns to his drink. The first thug, having come to, approaches Hercules wielding a cudgel. Hercules picks up Iolaus, asks the innkeeper for two rooms, and leaves. He drops Iolaus in bed, then goes into his own.

Outside, three of the thugs from the tavern are planning retaliation on Hercules. They are unexpectedly attacked by the minotaur, and brutally murdered. Hercules hears the commotion, and goes outside to check on it. He finds the bodies of the dead thugs just as the villagers see him with the bodies. They think he killed them, and Hercules is forced to retreat to the tavern. He wakes up Iolaus, and the two escape by breaking down the back wall of the tavern. They find themselves in a dead end, with their only exit blocked by the villagers. The ground suddenly opens up, and a villager is pulled down it. Next, Iolaus is lost the same way.

Outside the minotaur's cave, Zeus waits for Hercules, so he can talk to him. Zeus tells Hercules that the minotaur wants to kill him. He was a man once, but wanted to challenge the power of the gods. As a result, Zeus made his outward appearance as ugly as his heart. Now the minotaur seeks to inflict Zeus with pain. Hercules gets the feeling he hasn't heard the whole story from Zeus. Zeus asks Hercules to destroy the minotaur because he can't.

Two other villagers offer their help to Hercules. Inside the minotaur's cave, Hercules has one of the men mark their path by dragging the shaft of a spear on the ground. The man becomes sacred, and runs. While the other man stays with Hercules, the scared man finds that every passageway is marked. The minotaur finds him, and kills him, leaving him to die in the other villager's arms. As they continue on, Hercules passes between two rocks, but the surviving villager is too big to make it. He becomes stuck, and the minotaur slits his throat.

Hercules finds himself sucked into to ground, and ends up where all the others did. The minotaur appears, and tells Hercules of his plan for world domination. Then the minotaur and Hercules fights, and just as Hercules prepares to kill the minotaur with a stalagmite he broke off, the minotaur reveals that he is his brother. The minotaur gains the upper hand in the fight, since Hercules won't kill, much less fight, him now.

The minotaur tells Hercules that he can watch Iolaus die. After he pulls Iolaus' head from a cocoon, Hercules attacks the minotaur again. The minotaur is impaled on another stalagmite, and then Zeus appears. Hercules now understands why Zeus couldn't explain. The minotaur never wanted to die this way. Zeus releases the minotaur from his curse, and he reverts to a man again. Hercules pulls Iolaus from his cocoon, and after they help the others out, they head for home.
