What we know of the 1992 to 1999 live dates have been posted. We’re missing a ton of dates from ‘92 through ‘95. Please help us out if you can. We’ll update as we get them. We’re going to add some MP3’s over the next months. Some demos and live material.

November 8, 1999

Will's tour diary of the final 1997 midwest tour is up.

November 7, 1999

A couple of new sections will be appearing in the next couple of weeks. Will's tour diary of the final 1997 midwest tour and as close as we can get to a definitive show schedule from 1992 to 1999. Also, Will and Keith's new band Fusebox is now named driverX and will be playing Saturday, November 13th (10:00) at CB's Gallery.

August 13, 1999

James Renard is back in action with The Happy Scene. He and Greg Wilson should start doing shows any time now and will be recording in late August. Fusebox has changed its name to Bikini Atoll. They'll be playing Thursday, August 26th at Nightingale (10:30) and Saturday, September 25th (10:00) at CB's Gallery. They also have a new website.

June 10, 1999

Fusebox will be playing Coney Island High on Tuesday, June 29. It's a Village Voice strike fund benefit. More details to follow. There's also a Fusebox website that should be up any day. Their demo was produced by Ivan Julian, and if you ask really nice, we may be able to send you a cassette sampler.

Some additions can be found in the FOTO section as well as this link to an Ego-era article from Cover magazine.

March 19, 1999

Big screw-up,The Happy Scene is Sunday, March 21 at Continental. Sorry for the mix-up. 8:00 sharp.

March 12, 1999

Will and Keith's new band Fusebox is doing a low-key first run gig at Great Lakes in Brooklyn on Thursday, April 8th. More details to follow.

Sadly, James Renard's band, the 400 Blows, have broken up. Needless to say, the show is off. So go see Greg Wilson's The Happy Scene instead.

March 3, 1999

A couple of shows of note coming up. James Renard's band the 400 Blows are playing Arlene Grocery in NYC on April 4 at 8:00. They've got an EP out (sans Renard), but check em out.

And Greg Wilson's The Happy Scene is playing on March 28th at 8:00. You'll remember them from the 1995 collaboration with Idle on the Happy Scene 7" "Take My Teenage Head". Punk rock holiday! Perhaps another Idle mix?

January 27, 1999

Original four Idlers back together for final show at Arlene. James Renard took a break from his new band The 400 Blows. Look out for them round the city.

Last show setlist:

Rt. 17
Traverse
Paper Cut

Record Store Girl

Fallen Hero

Thanks to Julia Kent from Rasputina for sitting in on cello and thanks to all of you that came out and those that supported us over the years. Keep in touch. The site will be up as long as this newfangled WWW is around. More photos to come as well as lyrics and tour diary's, etc. We'll also keep postings up of band members activities.

January 14, 1999

AMAZING LAST SHOW! Thanks for all that came out. News about the show soon. Thanks again for all your support.

December 19, 1998

The date of the final Idle show has changed. It will now be Saturday, January 9th at 11:00 PM. The venue is still Arlene Grocery. Sorry for the confusion. It's still a freebie. Special guests, etc.

December 8, 1998

Couple of new photos. More soon.

November 22, 1998

Final Idle . . .

The final Idle show will be on Friday, January 22nd at Arlene Grocery in Manhattan. Show set for 11:00 PM. And it's a freebie. E-mail any last requests.

October 30, 1998

After 6 years, the members of Idle have decided to disband. The old term "artistic differences" was bandied around and I guess that's probably the best way to put it. It wasn't an easy decision, but it's time to move on to other projects, music, lives . . .

No immediate dates have been set, but the band plans to play at least one more show, most likely in the new year. Info will be posted here.

The band would sincerely like to thank all those who've supported us and helped us over the past few years. Take care.

October 22, 1998

Some bozo stole our van. Any info (well, anyway) e-mail us. It's white and got tagged a while back with the moniker "Skid Boom." Prob unrelated.

October 15, 1998

First show since August at Continental was fun. Thanks to those who came out.

Previewed some new songs we'll be recording soon. Keep posted for more dates. Our profile will keep growing as the weather gets colder.

Set list from Continental 10/ 8: For Better, Speed of Sound, Record Store Girl, Untitled #1 (clever name w/ James vocal), June, Untitled #2 (clever name w/ Will vocal), Afraid To Fly, G Train, Fallen Hero

September 24, 1998

Major redesign going on. Should be up and ready by week's end.

Just realized the band just marked its sixth anniversary. Six years ago we played a crappy club in Queens called Nobody's. Think it's a furniture store now. We're very sentimental.

Sadly, Julia Kent will not be with us on October 8 at Continental. She has things to do with Rasputina.

September 18, 1998

Having some problems uploading some pict files. Bear with us.

Show at Continental on October 8. Julia Kent from Rasputina will be with on on cello!

September 10, 1998

Working on new tunes for the fall. We should be back out in October. Possible mid-Atlantic dates in November. Sounds are good--getting colder finally. Fall can never get here too soon in NYC.

August 29, 1998

Show at Baby Jupiter went great with new line-up. We actually played as a six piece with Barry from Blink on percussion. Most members met him moments before the show! He was killer. Kirk Henderson joined us on keys. Played an interesting set ... Trust, Speed of Sound, For Better, June, Trouble Man, Record Store Girl, Afraid to Fly, Fallen Hero, G Train. We'll be back out soon. More news on soundtrack too. Willard Grant Conspiracy was awesome. They continue to get better and better each time we see em.

August 19, 1998

Tha band recorded a new tune, "Afraid To Fly" last weekend at Coyote Studios in Brooklyn. Monster 18+ hour session Saturday/Sunday morning. Denser groove-ier sound than Ego. Ivan Julian again at the board. Some great guest spots: Brian Patterson (from Will's old band DT & the Shakes) sat in on drums for the vacationing Jeff Kilgour (he said he was going phishing or something); Julia Kent from Rasputina on cello; Kirk on keys; and Al from the Lovelies on the Moroccan drums. Did we miss anybody? Hopefully, it will be out soon.

August 13, 1998

Show at Baby Jupiter, 170 Orchard St., NYC. Sat. August 22nd. We'll be playing at least 2 new songs. If you can head out to the club this Saturday and catch the Willard Grant Conspiracy at 9pm. Saw 'em last weekend there and they were groovy.

We're finally heading back into the studio. We'll be recording the track for the slasher flick this weekend in Brooklyn. We're working on a totally different sound for this particular tune. Results soon.

In addition, there's a couple of new photos in the FOTO section. More soon we promise. There's a bunch from last year's fall tour.

In response to queries about James Renard. He's no longer in the band, leaving after our fall tour to pursue other interests. We'll keep you posted as to any of his musical endeavors.

July 29, 1998

We're no longer going to be in "Disturbing Behavior", but will be in the fall slasher-flick "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer". We're recording this month for that. And don't forget, Will's side project, the Stepsons, will be at the Continental in NYC on Sunday, August 9th at 9:00.

July 21, 1998

The Stepsons' show has been moved from Wednesday, July 22 to Thursday, July 23 at 10:00--Coney Island High upstairs.

July 12, 1998

We'll be at Baby Jupiter in NYC on August 22nd w/ the Willard Grant Conspiracy from Boston, Mass. We did the Bacharach compilation cut with them as you may recall. They've got a new cd coming out on Rykodisc in August. We'll be playing with drummer Jeff Kilgour. Rehearsal's sounding great. See you there.

New studio dates set for mid-September. More later.

July 03, 1998

We're gonna be in a Hollywood flick in August called "Disturbing Behavior"--well, one of our tunes anyway. We'll relay more news as we know it. Suffice to say it's got one of the chicks from Dawson's Creek in it.

Photos and lots of crazy artwork next week.

The aforementioned Stepsons (of the Pioneers--ha ha), will also be at Coney Island High on St. Marks Pl. on Wednesday, July 22nd. Stay tuned for show time. Have a patriotic nation day.

June 24, 1998

Will's side project, the Stepsons, will be at the Continental in NYC on Sunday, August 9th at 9:00. More details to follow.

June 21, 1998

Just getting things started here. It's taken a while to get up and running, but here we are. Send in your comments regarding the new site, we always dig getting mail. In coming weeks we'll add some sound files (some unreleased and maybe new material), ordering info, press, embarassing photos, etc. More importantly, we'll be playing out again as the summer comes to a close. We haven't done a live show since Jan. 3 and we're getting serious cabin fever. AND we're headed back to the studio in August with Ivan to record a few sides. Stay tuned...
