The scene: a battlefield. The place: near a military training facility. Two men fight each other while a girl waits in a field. Creepy words flash across the screen as the men try to kill each other. Such is the great opening scene of Final Fantasy 8.
The game starts off simple enough, but the learning curve shoot up as your skills do. Equip different abilities and spells to arm yourself against the hidden danger to time itself in this epic game. While this game goes a little too far in the direction of technology and inventiveness, it is still a pretty good game. The characters are decent, and Zell is awesome! Once you get used to the Juncioning system, the game becomes much easier, and you can make almost immortal characters! However, there are drawbacks like the absence of armor, and some castles would have been nice. Thankfully, FF9 is going back to the roots that made Final Fantasy so popular. The card game is addicting, but ultimately not worth it.
