First series of Latvian cards was issued in March 1995 by firm LATTELECOM. Series contain 4 cards - 1, 2, 5 and 10 Lats. Type of cards - magnetic (ALCATEL). The cards of this series are used in card payphones on all Latvian territory. |

Second LATTELECOM series was issued in 1995. Series contain 3 cards - 2, 5 and 10 Lats. On the back sides of all cards the emblem of firm LATTELECOM is represented. |

Third series of Latvian cards was issued in May 1996 by firm LATTELECOM. Series contain 3 cards - 2, 5 and 10 Lats. Pictures on the back sides of cards same as well as figures of the second series, but differ by colour. The text on a front sides of cards is printed on a dark red or dark green background, as against the second series where the text was printed on a grey background. |

In October 1996 the firm LATTELECOM also has issued 2 series with the views of Riga (capital of Latvia) and "River views" on front sides. Each series contain 3 cards by face values 2, 5 and 10 Lats. | |
In August 1996 in Latvia were issued 2 chip cards by face values 2 and 5 Lats for testing new payphones by ALCATEL. Since August 1997 LATTELECOM beginnings to issue public chip phonecards. | |
