Wind Synthesizers are VERY complex instruments. There are many different name brands and models. It is ultimately up to the individual player to decide what makes him/her comfortable.

Jaared Arosemena plays a Yamaha WX-11 wind synthesizer with a stock Yamaha WT-11 tone generator. Jaared also uses a Yamaha WX-5 wind synth as a "Vocoder" when he connects it to a vintage Digitech Talker. He also uses a very complex series of tone modules when he is on tour.
