LOOKS

Hungry looks, that haunted me for long

Taxed my memory, whom did they belong

Pangs of hunger, was it eminent danger

Horrors gone by, was it what do I care

Sunken sockets, standfast did they stare

Seeing through the souls, secrets did they blare

Life long suffering, not an inch of fun and fare

Those little joys of suffering, perhaps none to share

Stretched hands, caving stomachs, skeletons that were bare.

Unconcerned, passers by, even eyes did not stare

Is not God's mercy, equal for all to share

Why some suffer, while others get lion's share.
