presents actress/stand-up comedian Janeane Garofalo

Pull out that shrine to Janeane and start practicing your questions because this acerbic wit is sure to turn her disdainful eye and hilarious sarcasm on all things flailing to be hip -- everything from coffee houses to designer clothes to you.

After taking in the warm glow (ouch that burns!) of Janeane on The HUB, don't miss the premiere of HBO Comedy Hour: Janeane Garofalo on Saturday, August 23 at 10 pm ET/PT. Janeane will give her opinions on all the important things in life -- celebrity, sex, rock 'n' roll, and more (if there is, indeed, more to life).

Emmy nominated for her role as Paula, the talent booker, on HBO's Larry Sanders Show, Janeane also guest-starred as Jerry Seinfeld's personality-twin and love interest in last season's final episode of Seinfeld. Janeane's film credits include The Truth About Cats and Dogs, in which her smart, self-deprecating character stole the show from Uma Thurman, The Cable Guy, Reality Bites, Bye Bye Love, Touch, and the new movie with Sylvester Stallone and Robert DeNiro, Copland.

In her senior year of high school, Garofalo's family moved from New Jersey to Houston, Texas where she started hanging out at the renowned Comedy Workshop. While attending Providence College in Rhode Island, she performed stand-up at local venues. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and earned a guest spot on the late-night TV series The Dennis Miller Show. She also was the only woman on Fox's prematurely squashed Ben Stiller Show. Garofalo performed on The Larry Sanders Show from 1992 through 1996. In addition, she was a cast regular during the 1994-5 season of Saturday Night Live. In addition to film and TV, Garofalo continues to perform stand-up comedy.

Burn your exercise gear, bone up on your pop culture, put on your party boots, and meet up with Janeane on The HUB.
