Once again, be sure the patient exhaled as long as possible by looking for a 2 second plateau at end exhalation on the volume-time graph and looking at end exhalation on the flow-volume loop and making sure flow did not suddenly drop to zero. If FVC is underestimated because the patient stopped blowing out early you can miss obstruction.
