It was like any other day in most parts of the swamp, but not beside the "Swamp Shack". Louis and Frankie sat in their usual spot listening to the sounds of the swamp. It was not the same. The noise of the frogs croaking was upsetting to Louis, he could not forgive them for stealing his job.. As he and Frankie sat on their branches Louis just couldn't believe that Budweiser had employed the frogs instead of them. He was bitter. He took to insulting the Frogs at every chance. Louis' obsession with being outdone by the frogs began to spill over into agression and even Frankie considered Louis as one sick Lizard. Strange ideas began to enter Louis mind as he planned his revenge, he even considered eating them and asked Frankie "how the frogs might taste". It wasn't long before his insults and vengeful thoughts grew into threats of violence against the frogs. But time passed and finally arrived one of the biggest days in the American sporting calender, The Superbowl. Of course Louis was bound to have a little to say about this. The swamp grapevine swung into action and Frankie began to hear a few rumours about Louis, which of course he denied. Then one day, out of the blue there was an accident outside the Swamp Shack involving the illuminated sign hanging there. This "accident" didn't quite go according to plan and that evening on National television Louis offered an "apology" in order to shift blame from himself. In his attempt to clear his name he even went so far as to say he was "considering moving to another swamp" as this one was dangerous. He was of course not innocent, as he had hired a Ferret to cause the mishap, but with the survival of two Frogs he was not happy with the outcome . He began to hatch plans to replace the frogs and unsurprisingly it was not long before his personal chance arose. Louis threw himself into his new role and began to practice his part all day. He was poor, but was eventually offered the part. As Louis pursued his new career as an actor for Budweiser his ego grew and he began to reach higher. Unfortunately for Louis, such is the way in advertising, he, Frankie and the frogs were eventually to be replaced. . This caused a certain amount of anger and Louis soon found himself in dispute with the frogs . Louis never recovered from the heartbreak of rejection and his long suffering friend Frankie watched him become more and more morose. When Budweiser announced the new star of their advertising campaign it was more than Louis could stand. How could the Ferret possibly get the job? He spent the rest of his days sitting beside Frankie and contemplating what "might have been", and took any opportunity he could to critisise the new star . Frankie remained his usual laid back self and Louis remained bitter to the very end......
....and so concludes the story of Louis and Frankie,
The Budweiser Lizards.
