JEM BLOOPERS
Nowadays, studios can spend a lot of time and money to have dialogue and
animation redone for a television episode. That wasn't as common in the
1980s, when JEM was made. As a result there's some interesting things
that made it to air. This page is not meant as a disrespect to the show in
any way, mistakes happen and are understandable... but that doesn't
mean we can't enjoy them!

ADVENTURE IN CHINA (a.k.a. "Untitled")
* When the earrings are stolen while Jem is in the hot tub, she changes
back to Jerrica... unfortunately, in a full Chinese outfit and not a bathing
suit.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS
* In the "Takin' it All" video, Kimber is on the football field as a
cheerleader and then just disappears off-screen!
* After Jem has thrown off her earring and is taken captive by Zipper,
she fluctuates between one and two earrings. Because of Synergy
and the holograms, it could go one way or the other... but it needed to
be consistent!
* After Jem projects the fake door and they try to run out the real
one, Zipper grabs Kimber. Aja says Shana's line: "He's got
Kimber!"
THE BEGINNING
* When Synergy appears to Jerrica the first time, and the wind
blows through the window, Jerrica goes have having shortish hair to having very long hair.

BROADWAY MAGIC
* Jem throws one of her earrings out of the crown of the
Statue of Liberty (she's locked up in there), and uses it to project a hologram of herself to get the attention
of a couple of workers. When the workers free her and they're going down in
the elevator, Jem is clearly shown wearing BOTH of her earrings!
CULTURE CLASH
* Jem projects a hologram of Eric Raymond to fool the jewel smuggler
Maria. She doesn't project the hologram over her own body
which she should have. So after Maria is startled by what Eric
tells her about the cops finding her out, she starts to run out
of the door and pushes Eric aside. Unfortunately you can't

* After Jem and the Holograms decide to look for Fitz at his apartment, they cut
to a scene of the fire escape. Notice there are FIVE figures
running down the stairs, not four. (courtesy of Jake)
DISASTER
* After the bomb blast at Starlight Mansion when the Misfits are being
interviewed, Roxy and Stormer say each other's lines ("Look what it
did to my stockings!"... "And my hair!")
* When Lindsey is at the Countess' party and talking about Jem needing
to make a video, her socks go from yellow to white and back to yellow
in the same shot.
* In the "Makin' Mischief" video, a man gets hit with a pie (in the large
group scene) and then disappears off-screen!
*Before Roxy and Stormer talk, Pizzazz has both of her hands behind
her head (but her right arm disappears before she brings both of her arms down again).

THE FAN
* After putting Prescott in the closet, the Misfits discuss
their further plans. At the end of the scene, Roxy's hair mysteriously changes

FATHER'S DAY
* Kimber's eyeshadow and lipstick turn into a dull purple
for a moment, while talking to Harvey Gabor, and then turn back into pink in

FRAME UP
* In this episode, there is a scene where the cowboy rock promoter
guy tells Jem (who is wearing the green mini dress with pink belt)
and the Holograms that if Aja isn't back in 5 minutes, the Misfits
get the show. Well, if you look close you'll see that in the start
of the shot Jem is standing in the mini dress, then it goes to
her sitting in her regular JEM outfit (the pink dress with the
white belt) then it goes to her sitting in the minidress. This is all

* At the beginning of the "Truly Outrageous" video, Kimber's left arm
disappears for a short moment. (courtesy of Mark)
HOT TIME IN HAWAII
* Kimber orders a glass of pineapple juice on the plane. She spills
it on Steve. After that, the cup is gone, and Steve's shirt is dry. (courtesy of Jake)
* Pizzazz wins the swimming competition;
she has a swim cap on, then it is gone and is nowhere around. (courtesy of Jake)
HOLLYWOOD JEM - PART 2 - "AND THE WINNER IS..."
* When Kimber tells Sean to get better in the hospital, she says:
"You're ruining MY SISTER'S movie career."
INTRIGUE AT THE INDY 500
* Eric takes the "target" picture of himself off the door and attempts to
wipe off the red marker and smears egg yolk on it; in the next scene, the rag is
gone and the picture has no egg yolk on it; then, in the next scene, the picture
is gone, then it's back again -- and also note there are no holes in the picture. (courtesy of Jake)
* Jem wins the race, and she is rewarded with a flower necklace -- when it's
put over her head, it magically goes through her hair and around her neck under
her hair; in the next scene, it is completely gone. (courtesy of Jake)
JOURNEY TO SHANGRI-LA
* Raya is painted the same skin tone as Jerrica and Kimber throughout the
episode
KIMBER'S REBELLION
* When the Misfits crash the party on the yacht, Roxy is wearing a green dress.
However, when the Misfits flee on the motor boat, Roxy is wearing a purple dress.
* When they finish performing "Twilight in Paris" in the studio, Jem's mouth
is still moving after her vocals have ended.
* When Kimber pouts about all the attention Jem is getting ("Why should
Jem get all the attention?") we cut to a shot of her with arms down to one
of her with her arms crossed. It's a jump cut.
* In the same sequence, Kimber walks away and Rio runs after her.
When she turns around to see Rio, we see only her arm in the frame.
Unfortunately, she's wearing the wrong outfit!
* During the "Twilight In Paris" video, Kimber's hair is bright pink

* After the "Twilight In Paris" video, when Rio pushes the girls out of
the path of the falling gargoyle, Kimber and Shana have traded

THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
* Raya is painted the same skin tone as Jerrica and Kimber throughout the
episode
* Jem, Ba Nee, and Utu are stranded on the island. Ba Nee is shown wearing
her stocking cap (however, she lost it when she fell out of the kayak); in fact, in the following scene,

* In the "Makin' Mischief" video, Roxy starts out with a yellow snowmobile,
then Jetta is seen riding on it, then Roxy has it back again (courtesy of Taffeta)
MUSIC IS MAGIC
* Raya is painted the same skin tone as Jerrica and Kimber throughout the

OLD MEETS NEW
* As Kimber leaves during the shooting of the documentary, Jem tells
Video, "That's my sister."
THE PRESIDENTIAL DILEMMA
* Raya is painted the same skin tone as Jerrica and Kimber throughout the

PRINCESS AND THE SINGER
* Jem introduces Kimber to Alexis as her sister.
THE ROCK FASHION BOOK
* Jem and the Holograms fall into the pool of
killer whales right, and Jem is wearing a tanktop with a miniskirt. Underwater,
when Synergy's hologram wears off, Jerrica is wearing a long sleeve shirt only
rolled up to her elbows along with jeans. When Jerrica comes out of the water,
she turns back into Jem. Rio comes over, squats down, GRABS her arms and hugs
Jem... BUT if Jem is wearing only a tank top when it's just a hologram

ROXY RUMBLES
* Roxy's blow-dryer disappears between two shots and she

SCANDAL
* While the Misfits are passing out Cool Trash magazines of
Kimber's scandal during the song "Scandal," if you look very closely, you

STARBRIGHT PART 1: FALLING STAR
* Jem goes to check on Synergy's power-levels, and
while walking out of the room, her hair turns into a bright yellow for a few

* When Jerrica, Aja, and Shana look on in horror
when the explosions Roxy set off trap Kimber on the set, Jerrica's hair is

* In the beginning of the episode, right before the video
for "It All Depends on the Mood," Kimber is seen wearing her yellow dress with the green
palm trees, but momentarily in one blink-of-the-eye scene, she is shown wearing her

THE TALENT SEARCH (PART 2)
* In the scene where Raya tells off Eric Raymond, when she's pictured
behind his desk, you can see right through her torso to her hips area...
she moves around the chair and then everything is fixed. (courtesy of

VIDEO WARS
* Raya is painted the same skin tone as Jerrica and Kimber throughout the
episode
* When Jem is singing "The Last Laugh," her eye shadow changes color
quite a few times. It goes from yellow to (I think) purple. It could be pink, I'm not sure, but it

* When Jem starts singing "The Last Laugh," she is wearing a
yellow dress with a pink belt around her waist. By the end of the song, the

WORLD HUNGER SHINDIG
* Kimber says Jerrica's line "Well, hello there" when greeting Rio at the
opening party.
