Ekambareswara Temple
Sri Shankara Mutt
The Shankara Mutt is situated across from the Hanuman Temple. It takes about five minutes to walk to Ekambaranathar Temple from here.
Sri Shankaracharya is a famous saint (aka Sri Shakara). He has been dead for some time and has successors. The current saint (successor) is Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi. We were very lucky, as on this day, he was inside performing a puja and he came to meet a few devotees. There was less than one hundred people inside the room when we entered, so we were able to see him, but we did not meet him. However, as he had just performed the puja, we were able to collect the prasadam and enjoy that.
