The New Albany Explorer Post # 611 is a division of the Boy Scouts of
America that is designed for young men and women from the ages of
14-21 that are interested in pursuing a career in Law Enforcement.
The New Albany Law Enforcement Explorer Post # 611 is operated from the F.O.P. building in New Albany , Indiana. The executive advisor is Detective Sergeant Eric Higdon. The post consists of 6 adult advisors and 9 cadets from the ages of 14-21. These 9 cadets receive the same training the actual police officers receive. The cadets work various details ranging from Thunder Over Louisville, Harvest Homecoming, 4H Fair, and The Pegasus Parade. The explorers are trained in the fields of Radio Communications, Traffic Stops, Homicide Investigation, Crime Scene Investigation, Domestic Disturbances, and Hostage Negotiations.
