New NEW NEWS

Also my comments about MY Dodge will go away after I sign an agreement when I get my check.

This page will become a page for all types of car and truck problems. Like a consumer digest.

I just wanted to say 'Thank You' for supplying such a great web page. This is the type of thing the Internet should be used for, people sharing useful information. A page like this should exist for every type of product available. My wife and I are currently looking to purchase a minivan and until I read your page, the Dodge minivan was number one on the list. After reading everyone's comments I think it may have dropped right off the list. Thanks again and keep up the good work. What ever you do, DON'T let Chrysler force you to remove the web page. We still have our first amendment rights, whether they like it or not.

After purchasing a 1989 Dodge Dakota in Jan 1994, I noticed that it was not shifting into overdrive. I brought it to the dealer, a week later it was not fixed. I talked to the dealers consumer rep. They rented me a car, even though they did not have to. Two weeks, one engine computer, and a rebuilt transmission, later I got my truck back. at no cost, (I dont think they made anything on that deal),and so far so good. I guess not all dealers are alike. Good luck to all

Just wanted to thank you for the service you are doing. I think some of your commentators don't get it. Without comments like yours, Detroit will keep pumping out crap and charging us through the nose for it. I like old Dodges (pre-'72 Power Wagons), but I bought a Japanese truck in 1985 and I haven't owned an American vehicle since. My Toyota 4x4, Mazda Pickup, and now my Mitsubishi Montero have had a combined total of over 150,000 miles with ZERO major problems. To those of you who say "buy American", I say "when the Americans build a decent product and sell it at a decent price, I will. Until then, the Japanese will be getting my business"

I have a '96 Ram HD2500 Club Cab Diesel 4X4 and have had alot of brake problems.. I live in the Dallas area and have taken it to Manuel Dodge in North Dallas several times... have had the from rotors turned once.. and 2 sets of front brake pads..(after 22K miles...) .... and it's starting to squeak again... also have had problems when backing up and going forward several times (while parking in a tight spot) and having the brake and ABS light go on then the pedal sinks to the floor and the truck WILL NOT stop.... Manuel Dodge said "We can't find a problem"... Well, I think I can find any just-out-of-lawschool lawyer that will take this case and easily win..... I really love this truck and would like to keep it.. however, I had similar problems with my previous vehicle (95 Ford Bronco) and I have vowed to never again buy a ford (this after being a loyal ford owner for 10+ years)... I will just as quickly give Chrysler the boot if I continue to have problems... I am contacting anyone here that has an ongoing lawsuit and hopefully someone (chrysler) will listen and make amends... If anyone here or at chrysler would like to talk to me ... contact me at jno964@airmail.net... again, I will give chrysler EVERY chance to correct my problem... otherwise... I know and WILL use the Lemmon Law to correct the problem myself....

I WISH I HAD READ YOUR LETTER BEFOR I GOT 50KMILES ON MINE. ALOT OF SHOP TIME AND WHEN IT WOULD HIT A BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED 60+ WITH THE WHEEL TURNED A LITTLE IT STARTED WHAKING LIKE A WHEEL WAS LOOSE. ALMOST LOST IN IN DENVER ON I 25 AND I 70 WITH A RACE CAR TRAILER ON. DEALER TOLD ME I WAS IMAG. THINGS ON ROUGH ROADS (I-70 IS BAD) I HAD TO PAY FOR A STABILIZER BAR.. IT WAS DANGEROUS, VERY SCARY. NO DEALER HELP, NO WAY TO ACCESS CHRYSLER VERY EASILY. THEY ARE MAKING BIG MONEY OFF US AND WE HAVE ALL THE FRUSTRATION. DODGE DEALER HAVE GENERALLY BEEN PRICKS!!! EVERY TRY TO REPORT IT,,, FORGET IT THEY DONT WANT TO KNOW HOW BAD THEY ARE. (EVEN ONE DEALER HAS BEEN SCREWED BY CRYSLER BECAUSE HE IS A SMALL DEALER. THE TRANNY WONT PUSH A 5K TRAILER BACKWARDS....DEALER SAYS ITS COLD... (95 DEGREES OUTSIDE) THEY DONT HAVE IT TOGETHER. MY TRUCK HAD TO SIT AND RUN FOR 13 HRS. BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SHUT IT OFF. THEY ARE NOT MECHANICS--THE MECHANICS WORK FOR CUMMINS. BUT CUMMINS WONT TOUCH EM. AFRAID OF A CRYSLER LAWSUIT. IS THE HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION A PLACE TO GO WITH SAFETY CONCERNS AND EXCESSIVE COSTS WITH TRANSMISSIONS, BRAKES, STEERING,ETC. WHERE CAN WE GET COPIES OF THE SERVICE BULLITONS,, I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR STUFF THAT WAS A RECALL..... NEED TO DO SOMETHING... probably not buy another dodge!

I really believe the Dodge Ram is a fine looking vehicle. But looks alone do not make the truck. Anybody that has to rely on a truck for there work vehicle is taking a huge gamble with the Dodge. It is amazing to me that Dodge selle these things for $20,000-$30,000 I'm sure knowing there junk. I do not own a new Ram but everyone I know that owns one are having problems with them. Dodge should be ashamed. The page is great. Free speech is a good thing. If a page like this gets Chrysler moving then so be it.

I have a '94 Intrepid. At 23,000 miles, the air conditioning quit working. Found out that it was caused by an engineering problem under the hood - something punctured the line. We had to pay for the replacement line and for the labor. Now, there is something wrong with the air conditioning head ( I am constantly needing to recalibrate the system). The dealer said that Chrylser won't pay for the new head either. When the air does work, it smells like cow manure (this is just recently). Also, the rear window seals have pulled out, the power sunroof leaks in heavy rains, when I brake the car pulls to the right, something is shaking and shimmying under the passenger seat. My car now has 35,000 miles, and I am so ready to get rid of it. It looks great, but rides for crap (oh, and it has very choppy, sluggish acceleration). Bukmstr69 says:
holy shit , I just ordered the exact truck in feb96 . I am expecting to have the truck in stock by may1 . Mine will be all black ram 1500 4x4 club cab 8ft bed. Hope not to have the same problems but will e mail back if I do. continue to update your situation

Phil says: Hi Jim !

hello! Im sorry to hear about your new Ram. Thats a Shame. I work for Chrysler Jeep in Toledo and I have ALOT! of friends with New Rams and They Love them! and Some day I shall have me a new ram also. Im in Love with them. As far as the frame I have been Told by a couple people that they had problems with the Frames breaking ( I think it had something to do with the Cummings diesel motor, or the V12) But thats the only problem that I had ever Herd about. If I were you Keep on them and maybee look Chrysler up in the Net and leave them a letter about the dealership. They will handle it , They dont put up with dealers like that. I wish ya Luck! and have fun with your Ram. Dave Wherry
