94 Ram 1500. I had to replace the fuel pump at 28,000. (Not included in 12\12, 7\70 warranty). Cost me 500 big ones. I have two other friends with the same problem.
Do you know where I can check on any TSB for the truck? Thanks

My experience with my Dodge began 90 day's after I got it. The Ram began to squeek so bad that you could hea r me coming from a block away. The dealer said that I had two bad front end bushings, that was the good news . The bad news was that it would take 2-weeks before he could schedule a mechanic to replace the bushings. Could you imagine the embarassement of driving a shiny new Clarion Red Dodge that sounded like your grandmont er's rocking chair. I took 1 mechanic 9 hours to repalce the bushings, the whole front end had to be dropped . That not the end of my story. This past May my truck began to stall whenever I changed idl, like exiting the freeway, or slowing to make a right hand turn. Suddendly, the Ram's engine shut down, I cannot convey to you the white knuckle fear of having to steer 6300 pounds of dead weight. I was literally scared to get on the highway or make any turn above 10 mph. The first day the truck stalled I thought that it was a fluke, bu t the se! cond incident three day's later made me realize that I had a serious problem. Back at the service departmen t at a different dealer my service advisor informed me that I had a bad speed sensor. Good news, not exactly . He said that they were too busy, and that I would have to scheduel an appointment (another 7 days). It to ok the dealership 10 minutes to repalce that sensor. I had to drive "in fear" for 7 day's for a part that co uld have been repalced in 10 minutes, I'm beginning Chrysler's Customer #1 slogan. I saved the best for last. Two weeks ago without warning my Ram would not go into reverse. After freei ng myself that Sunday, I was at the dealership on Monday at 7:00 am. I was told that I would be 7 hours befo re a mechaninc could look at the truck to determine the problem. To shorten this Ram epic here's the outcome . On friday I went to the dealership to pick up my key's, that had not even looked at my truck. I was smart this time, I leased my truck for 24 monthes just in case Chrysler had of new was really the Chrysler of old. In three monthes they can have this lemon, I'm going back to Ford.

t has been almost two years since I first purchased my Dodge Ram and: at 3000 miles the front bushings began to squeek at 20000 miles the speedsensor failed (6300 pounds of dead weight) at 28000 transmission failure, won't go into reverse Besides these three problems I just love my Dodge. The Dodge dealers suck, when you have an emergency mechan ical failure (speedsensor) there response was "make an appointment, were busy," now I understand why. Mechan ical defects that are corrected I can live with. Poor service is unforgivable. When my lease expires (3-mon thes to freedom) I'm going to walk, no run away from that beautiful Dodge and those dealers (Customer #1) HA.

I e-mailed you earlier about my Ram. Don't let them get to you. They have some real quality control problems. And the regional office here is stonewalling me. So I am suing them. Contact the ACLU about the threats against you. It is a free speech issue.

When I back it out of a parking space in hot weather then put her in D she sits there for as much as ten to fifteen seconds just roaring away with no forward motion. Took it to the shop, described the problem, and they said "that's within specs." Huh!! I don't get it. I have always liked MOPAR, but if they're just bending sheet metal I can go to GMC. That's what they did for years to the public.

I find your page interesting. All these problems with a product that has proven itself. Most of the problems that these people have listed seem to all come from the dealer and the relationship that you have with them. If you were not comfertable with them in the first place you should have walked out. You spend ten hours negotioating I am surprised you know how to turn on your computer, let alone dial on the net. If you were not comfertable at the time of sale then you shouldn't bring it back to them for service. Shame on the dealer for not getting you taken care of and for not working through the situation with both you and with Chrysler. Shame on you for not being smart enough to use your computer to solve the situation rather than bagger and belittle Chrysler through a web page. There are fixes to every problem evetuatly. Working through the whole thing should be a process that you, your salesperson, service department and Chrysler Corp should work out. Working things through to make sure that everything is to your satisfation is the goal. Looks like all involved in your situation including yourself need to hang your ego's out to dry and start fresh.

I have a 96 Dodge Ram extended cab, 360 V8, 4X4. Best truck I have ever owned. I now have 15,000 miles and have had zero problems. Mine is bright red w/ the sport package, I get comments on how great it looks all the time. I pull a boat and it does a great job. Too bad your experience hasn't been as good as mine. GOOD JOB DODGE!!!

bought a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Pick-Up with V8 about 2 months ago. Like yours, my drivers side mirror vibrates at 65mph. The whole truck vibrates at 70mph, plus there is a noticable shake when you brake from high speeds, like when you come off of an interstate exit ramp. Did you ever get a satisfactory explanation for the vibration? Who did you contact at the factory, or did the dealer call for help to get you off their backs? I'm giving the dealer a chance to make it right, but it WILL be made right.

I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota 4x4, club cab, Magnum V6 engine. Although I have not had as many problems as you have had, this truck is the worst vehicle I have ever had. When I went shopping for a new truck, I test drove the Ford Ranger, the Toyota and the Dakota. All trucks had V^ engines. The Ford had a very nice interior and rode well, but it was absolutely gutless. The Toyota had an uncomfortable interior and did not even come with a radio. It also was about $6000 more expensive than the other two trucks. Then I drove the Dakota V6. It was great! It far out performed either of the other two trucks, plus it had a great interior. When I finally got the truck I ordered, it turned out to have no power and was gutless going up hills. My old 1985 Toyota 4x4, with 145,000 miles on it, outperformed the Dakota by far. If I were to race a standard engine Volkswagon bug I would lose. I have had the Dodge in for service many times for lack of power, dying, missing, tapping noises, front suspension clunking, etc. The transmission would grind when using 4 wheel drive. The front brakes had to be turned this week. The truck only has about 25,000 miles on it. As far as power, the dealer says it is in spec. On the interior, the dealer ordered a bezel for the cup holder, but never called me to let me know it arrived. I asked them when it would get there during my next servicing, and they told me they shipped it back! The bezel is not a big deal, but I should have been notified that it was there and gotten it replaced. I go there every 3,000 miles for service and ask them to re-order it again. Just like yesterday. The clutch had a slipping problem at one time. Another time, the engine would back fire and die when coming to a stop at the bottom of the street. This was one problem they actually fixed by ordering a part specifically designed to solve it. I had been thinking about buying a Ram 1500, but after seeing all of the problems in this page, I have decided to go with the Ford 150. I haven't decided on the 96 or 97 model yet. I know that if I keep this Dakota I will continue having nothing but trouble with it.

Looking to buy new truck I previously have had two Nissions both with over 135,000 miles before retirement with very few troubles, Was Looking at new 97 Dodges seriously I' m going to look elseware. It sounds like Dodge will not stand behind their products and they have incompent dealerships. I would suggest you go to the library and read the book MR Badwrench I do not remember the author but after working in a dealership, It explained a lot of reasons why this stuff happens I would urge a class action lawsuit against chrysler make them responsible for their junk! Write everyone you can think of from your congressman, Chairman of the board, NTSB ,EPA, Manufactures of the parts involved Frames, Brakes, Suspention, Door seals, mirrors engine parts with the serious threat of involving them in the law suit and follow up with this threat and any agency that might remotely be involved . Paint lemons on your truck, call american journal (television) National Enquire Magazine any one who will listen I recently on vacation got a bad hotel room at a Ramada and sent out seven complaint letters and am not done yet> Hopefully someone somewhere gives a damn Good luck I will let you know how my new Chevy drives! Thank you for this information. I will also have my home page with Ramada if I do not get satisfactory results. As I told them the internet can have a positive or negetive effect.

Sure was sorry to hear about the problems that you
have had with your Dodge. I have a 1992 W250
Cummins 4X4 regular cab (this is the key, keep
reading)that has been the best truck I have ever
owned. I pass more Chev and Ford (the power stroke
diesel is the biggest pioece of scap metal on the
road, there is only one thing that ford
diesel owners powerstroke and its attached
between thier legs)diesels and big block gas motors
than I can count, and that when I am pulling a four
horse trailer fully loaded, but still getting 16
mpg pulling 9000 pounds!. I have not had a moments
trouble with the truck and the dealer has been
great.
Here is a little bit of insight that may be of
assistance. When I bought my truck in 1992 I
looked at the extended cabs and found out that they
were built in Mexico! There was no way that I would
own anything built by a bunch of worthless, bean
eating, tequilla drinking, afternoon sleeping
Mexicans. So I did what every American should do, I
bought a regular cab that was made in good old
Detroit Michigan USA!! I would not be surprised
that the problems you are having are related to the
Jerks that assembled it south of the border. So as
your arbitration continues see if you could get
Chrysler to give you one that was built by hard
working Americans for Americans in America. If
everyone would quit buying those worthless club cab
abortions then maybe Dodge would think about not
building them South of the border.
In conclusion, I have several friends with regular
cab gas and diesel 91-96 model years, and they are
quite happy with them. Several of them traded in
fords or chevs and would never go back! The moral
of this story is BUY AMERICAN, BUY AMERICAN, BUY
AMERICAN.
