as a result of the Recipe Tree e-mail chain..

I would like to thank all of you that have
responded with your favorites..

I thought I would make this page so everyone
would have a chance to try them..

Who knows.. you may find a new favorite here or
come across an old favorite you've misplaced..

I will continue to add the recipes as I receive
them so check back again to see the new ones.

My gang eats this as quickly as I bake it.
Usually make a double batch in the small
loaves and it makes about 10 to 12 loaves.
Freezes very well. While zucchini is available
in abundance right now, I go ahead and grate it
and freeze it in baggies (2 cups). This way I
have it ready to make bread or whatever.


"ZUCCHINI WALNUT BREAD"


Ingredients:

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp baking powder
2 cups grated zucchini (not peeled)
1 cup raisins
1 tsp vanilla


Directions:

Beat eggs, gradually beat in sugar then oil.
Combine dry ingredients and all to first
mixture alternately with zucchini, then stir
in raisins, nuts and vanilla.

**NOTE: If zucchini is very watery, squeeze
water out before adding.

Greased, lightly floured pans, either 2 loaf
pans or 5 small pans. Bake at 350° for
45 minutes or when done (check with toothpick).

Let stand about ten minutes and then turn out
of pan to cool on rack.

"SIRLOIN STEAK: DALLAS COWBOYS STYLE"
(Serves 2)


Ingredients:

2 12-ounce sirloin steaks
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh-ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 portobella mushroom
1 tablespoon butter
1 onion


Directions:

1. Trim steak into football shape.

2. Combine salt, pepper and cayenne to form a
dry rub. Rub it on both sides of each steak.

3. Cook steak in a skillet to your desired degree of doneness.

4. Cut mushroom into thin strips and sauté
in butter over medium-high heat for 1 minute.

5. Place sautéed mushroom strips on steak to form lacing.

6. Cut onion and place part of a single ring
on each end of the steaks.

"STRAWBERRY & PECAN COOKIES"


Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup shortening
1/2 tablespoon baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup fresh strawberry puree
(from 1 pint whole berries)
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped pecans


Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

1. Lightly grease or line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar
and the shortening. Beat in the baking soda,
eggs and strawberry puree until just blended.
Stir in the flour salt and pecans, mix well.

3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen

"BROOKS BBQ SAUCE"
Brooks Resturant, Oneonta, NY


Ingredients:

10 Chicken Halves
2 C. Cooking Oil, of choice
2 pints Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Pepper
2 Tbsp. Poultry Seasoning
4 Whole Eggs


Directions:

Mix all ingredients well.

Pour over Chicken halves and let
marinate overnight in refrigerator..
Save marinade to baste chicken while cooking on grill..
