2007-2008: SPRING, SUMMER & FALL ITINERARIES*

DAY 1: Departure from North America. Lose one day crossing the International Dateline. Non-stops flights available from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Vancouver.

DAY 3: Arrive in Hong Kong, meet with other group participants and spend the night at the Hong Kong Park Hotel located in the heart of the Tsim Sha Tsui district in Kowloon. Rest of the day at leisure for shopping or sightseeing.

DAY 4: Breakfast on your own, then transfer from the Hotel to the Train Station for the 8.20am Express Train. Arrival in GuangZhou at 10.20am then bus transfer to ZhaoQing and a welcome lunch. Later, check-in at 3 Star Song Tao Hotel. Take the bikes for a test ride and adjustments. A 20 km warm-up ride around the Star Crags Lake, followed by dinner at the hotel. Tonight we will visit a typical Chinese night market. Overnight at 3 Star Song Tao Hotel. L.D

DAY 5: Early breakfast in the hotel, then transfer to our drop-off point for a first experience cycling into rural China! On the way we pass through many small villages, with scenes of water buffalo, duck farms, rice paddies and farmers grinding gain. This morning we will cycle about 50km to our picnic site next to the West River for lunch. In the afternoon we cycle another 40 km amid rolling countryside, then bus to WuZhou, Dinner will be at the hotel, followed by an optional visit of Old Town WuZhou, a charming 16 block area newly revitalized and rich in history. Overnight at 3 star Dong Xing Hotel located in the heart of city. B.L.D

Day 6: Early breakfast in the bus, then transfer to drop-off point, we will cycle about 80 km on the very scenic and hilly road in the mountain area, picnic on the road, late afternoon we will board our bus to MengShan. Overnight at MengShan Hotel right on a river facing a magnificent covered bridge. B.L.D

Day 7: The cycling from MengShan to YangShuo is what many of you will consider the highlight of this trip. You will ride 90 km through rolling countryside with small farms and orange orchards as you enter the famous karsts formations surrounding the Guilin area. Overnight at 4 star Imperial City Hotel located on the banks of the Li River in picturesque YangShuo. Dinner is on your own. B.L

DAY 8: Early breakfast in the hotel, then we cycle 35 km on scenic, rolling, at times unpaved roadways around YangShuo. We cycle through Moon Hill, a small village within this incredible landscape, and then we continue for another 35 km over ideal cycling conditions through beautiful countryside to Xing Ping. Then transfer back to YangShou by bus,or we can cycle back to YangShuo if time permits. Overnight at 3 star Imperial City Hotel. Dinner on your own. B.L

DAY 9: Cycling and sightseeing in YangShuo, we will pedal 30 km around the beautiful YangShuo country-side and explore, then cycle another 30 km or bus to Pingle, a small village amid beautiful scenery. Overnight at 3 star Imperial City Hotel. Last dinner on your own. B.L.

Day 10: After breakfast we transfer by bus to the outskirts of Guilin, then we cycle 45km through mostly hilly scenic terraced areas, then push another 32 km to LongSheng, in this remote and colorful minority ethnic tribal region. Overnight at the 4 star New LongSheng Hot Springs Hotel located in a lovely valley surrounded by stunning mountains. B.L.D

Day 11: Breakfast at hotel, then we cycle 20 km to visit a Yao village, gifts exchange, followed by a dancing and singing show. Another 20 km riding and back to our hotel, rest of day at leisure. Optional rafting trip, minimum 6 participants (cost:$16). Overnight at the 4 star New LongSheng Hot Springs Hotel. B.L.D

Day 12: Early breakfast at hotel, then last riding of the trip; 40 km of very scenic road back to the town of LongSheng, picnic near the top of a mountain. Bus to Guilin for the afternoon flight to GuangZhou better known as Canton. Overnight at world famous 5 star White Swan Hotel located in the historical district of Shammian Island. B.L.D

Day 13: Sumptuous breakfast extravaganza in the hotel, then we board an Express Trans-Border bus bound to Hong Kong International Airport. Noon arrival, in time for early afternoon flight departures. Arrival in North America is usually on morning of the same day. B

For participants who would like to extend their stay in Hong Kong, we can arrange extra room night at HK Park Hotel, for our group rate.
