comment: I have been a member of the American Mountain Men since, I believe the late seventies. I am a hiveranno (#907) and am a past state booshway. I would be tempted to answer the "Are you a skinner" with a yes, however, in AMM, the term "skinner" connotes one who dresses period but covers his cooler full of soda with a hide or robe, so I would have to answer "no" in the strictest of terms. This is NOT a disparagement on my part, to anyone who claims to be a "skinner". It is simply the difference in a "relaxed" mode and a "nitty gritty, living history" mode, which is fully realized when accomplishing certain stringent requirements as set forth within AMM, which allow advancement, or better stated, recognize achievement within the organization.
YMOS,
"Waffalo"

I'm using a TC .50 cal Hawken and love it, but I think in my heart I'm really an eastern longhunter from the 1750'5. I need a smaller cal flintlock & the brass to take the plunge. You've helped put me on the right path. Thanks.
