This drawing of the Augustine abbey of St.Agatha in the village of Eastby near Richmond in the North Riding of Yorkshire (formerly Richmondshire) was made in 1752. The Copperplate engraving was published by Ellis in 1773. As noted in the 200 year old text, the abbey was founded by Roaldus, Constable of Richmond Castle in 1151.

There is said to be an underground passage from Richmond Castle to this abbey, in which a ghostly drummer boy has been heard from time to time.
