February 6, 1999; Saturday (1:35 pm)

This is sorta dissapointing 'cuz I've already written my journal entry for the week be4 lunch, but the computer had an error of some sort, so now, I'm gonna have to tell 'ya guys the whole story again. Oh, well, no use crying over spilled milk! 'Newayz, my batch is gonna have this play on February 9. Our History teacher, the one moderating the play, chose me 'n a few of my classmates as part of the cast. Us girls would dance while the guys would be the ones to act. I backed out 'cuz I told her that I didn't want to dance. She agreed. U-c, I didn't have the guts to dance, 'cuz I don't have dancing as my talent. I mean, yeah, music is part of my life, but not dancing. I'd rather act. That happened last week. This week, though, our History teacher, pulled me ('n another girl from another class too) out of classes 'n asked us if we would like to be in the play. Not to dance, but to act in the first part. Of course, I agreed. So now, the cast, together with the girl who would act as my grandmother, 'n me, the schoolgirl, would be going to present a play entitled "Sultan Kudarat" on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Manresa School. I think there are gonna be other school's there. I dunno if they're also gonna present a play or just watch though. Oh, hey, Valentine's Day is comein' up fast! Who's that lucky guy or gal who'll be receiving your special Valentine? Remember, K.I.S.S.! Keep it sweet 'n simple! (Actually, the original is "Keep it short 'n simple", but that's not the least bit romantic or whatever) ;o)

Okay, so what happened to me this week? Ah, yes, the level rep. elections. Well, as it turns out, I didn't vote for the one I was supposed to vote. Notice I said "supposed". The two nominees whom, in my class' and in my opinion, are the most responsible and independent ones, didn't win. Ida Sabitsana is now our Gr. 7 Level Representative. I guess she deserves it if she won. I mean, she has a few pretty good ideas. Oh, yeah, 'bout that "Sultan Kudarat" play. That was cool. We had some bloopers, but it was worth it 'cuz it was a real laff-trip when we, the cast, watched the video of our play. Our lead, Sultan Kudarat himself, went backstage when he still had a part in the next scene. So the result was, the soldier whom he was supposed to fight with 'n kill, died by himself. 'N believe me, 'cuz of that, my stomach ached a lot 'cuz of laughing so hard. Another thing that was affected 'cuz of Sultan Kudarat's backstage position, was that the governor-general he was supposed to be talking with on another scence, had to talk to himself, since the sultan was backstage! Our voices were recorded for the play, you see. So there had to be no delays. We had to follow the tape. Well, that's about the interesting stuff I have to tell!

March 30, 1999; Tuesday (3:35 pm)

Well, I just got back from the library. I think I'm gonna have to have a few books so I wouldn't turn into a zombie from always putting my face in front of a screen, don't 'ya agree? 'Newayz, we're having holy week here in the Philippines right now. At least we Christians are. Holy Week is when we grieve for our sins, be sorry for them, and repent. I think that way, we'll be preparing ourselves for Easter. Most Filipinos go to their provinces for Holy Week, so my family ('sept for my mom, she'll be going to work) is going to Bataan, my dad's province, on Saturday. I wanna go 'cuz my cousins are gonna be there.

In the meantime, summer's beginning to be sorta boring. (That's one of the reasons I keep going to the public library) So I made a list of my summer projects. If I have enough energy to keep me going [ meaning if I'm able to fight my laziness ;o) ], I'll probably make a webpage about the schoolyear we had. My whole class agreed we had the best experiences ever. So why not share 'em in cyberspace?

Another summer project is trying to finish my book of poems. In it are compilation of my poems since 1995. Oh, 'n guess what? While I was cleaning my room, I stumbled upon a sort of journal. In it were poems that I made when I was in prep. I might also put those in my book of poems. Wrong grammar, wrong spelling, and everything. Of course, I'm not really planning on having the book published. I'm not that dumb. ;o)

Well, c-y'all soon!

Whew! I almost forgot to write my journal entry for this week! Good thing we had only half day of classes today. You see, today's the day when the EDSA Revolution happened. You know, the big event here in the Philippines when the Filipinos got up the courage to rally against former President Marcos, the president of the Philippines who declared martial law. Anyway, last Saturday, my classmates and I had a practice for our Filipino play. I was the director, and also the lead actress, but I didn't do much acting then 'cuz what we practiced was the part with the "medicine woman". It was pretty hard making the group stay put, but at least we had some progress. The play's supposed to be a slapstick comedy, so we brainstormed on funny stuff we can add. That was sorta fun. Except that at some points, everyone disagreed with everyone. I hated that part. Oh, yeah, my brother and I, together with 2 others, are gonna play at St. Paul's College, a school in Manila, on Friday (Feb. 26). We were invited by another student of my piano teacher who studies there. It's their Music Week. Well, I think my mouth has to be shut now. This entry's already too long!

'Sup *~Just Some Stuff~* visitors?! Anythin' interestin' happenin' over on YOUR side of the world? A lotta cool things to look forward to are happenin' to me, that's for sure. For starters, remember that "gig" at St. Paul's College I told 'ya 'bout? Well, only three of us played, actually. My bro. 'n his duet partner, 'n moi. I played three solo pieces. Two classical ones by Mozart, Sonatina I and Fantasy in D Minor, 'n one New Age piece: Mozart by Suzanne Ciani. Now ain't I a die-hard Mozart fan? ;o) I played pretty well, 'sept for when I skipped a part of Fantasy in D Minor 'cuz I had a short sort of mental block. I was so nervous! But it was fun. Plus, during that time, I was excused from school! Yey! Piano 'n no school. What a gr8 combination. :o) My classmates 'n I are gonna have another practice for the same play I wa stalkin 'bout before. But this, time, in another classmate's house. I hope we're able to finish 'n polish the play! I mean, it's already on March 9, 'n I'm not sure the time we have left is enough. Wish me luck! Oh, yes, my uncle's comin' home tomorrow from New York too. He's Filipino, 'n he's gonna have his wedding on March 20! It's gonna be in Baguio, 'n boy, am I excited! I'm gonna be a junior bridesmaid with my cousin, 'n my bro. 'n I are also gonna be the ones to play the piano in the reception! Wish me double lucks!

March 7, 1999; Sunday (12:07 pm)

'Sup y'all? My classmates 'n I had another practice in the house yesterday. It was terrible, but at least we made a li'l bit of progress... such as the background music. I am sooo nervous 'bout the play! I hope we do well enough. 'Newayz, yesterday was a really busy day for me. In the morning, I had band practice, then right after that, we (my classmates 'n I)went to the mall to buy some materials for our Reading project, then we went to my house for our practice, and some of my classmates didn't get to go home early 'cuz they were picked up late (duh). Oh, 'n an hour after all my classmates left, my parents 'n I went to go see the movie "One True Thing". We got home at 1:30 am. I slept at 2:00 am. 'N I had to wake up at 9:30 am this morning 'cuz we had to go to the 10:00 am mass. Hm... well, at least we're having my favorite meal for lunch! (what?! I can't help it if I'm hungry!):o)

March 13, 1999; Saturday (10:27 am)

Hey, y'all, I've got gr8 news! First of all, all our class practices really paid off! Our class won first place, 'n I won best actress! Before the play started, I didn't get a chance to think 'bout being nervous, 'cuz before I knew it, the narrator was already talking 'n the play was starting! Not to show that I'm a negative thinkers, but before the winners were announced, I thought (together with my classmates) that another girl would win as best actress, so we were all so surprised (and happy at that) that I won best actress. Oh, 'n on Monday, my class is gonna have a swimming party! Problem is, I'm sick, 'n I dunno if I'll get better by then so I'd be able to swim. Oh, well, at least my last weeks of school's beginning to be really interesting! But that doesn't mean I'm still not looking forward to vacation! :o)

March 25, 1999; Thursday (4:20 pm)

Waddup, peepz? I'm not really in the mood to write right now (as usual), but I know it's now or never! So I'll just make a long story short. Well, the family cross-country trip we had was exhausting! I mean, 7 hours in a car? Good grief! But we had fun in Baguio (the destination of our trip) anyway. We went there 'cuz of my uncle's wedding, you see. 'N in the wedding, I, together with my cousin 'n another kid our age, was the junior bridesmaid. I also played a piano piece entitled "Sleepy Shores" in the reception. After the wedding, in the next few days, we went to Baguio Cathedral, a strawberry farm, Minesview Park, 'n some more cool places. 'Newayz, summer vacation has now started. The schoolyear had really been the best ever. I had the best adviser, the best classmates, 'n the best experiences. I mean, I won a lot of awards, the class became like a real family, and we were able to have ups and downs. It was really something to celebrate. Well, at least we have ANOTHER schoolyear to look forward to! (After all the fun we're gonna have this summer, that is) :-)
