Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
Authors: Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Kimberly Kimberger

You know how chicken soup usually makes you feel a whole lotta better when you're sick? Well, a certain book called Chicken Soup for the Soul does almost the same thing. Instead of curing or making your physical body feel better, it does that stuff to your soul. But there's a more specific "chicken soup book" for teens. It's called Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. It contains stories/poems written for and by -- who else? -- teens. It has stuff about relationships, family, friendship, and other tough stuff. Actually, there's already a Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II, so that doubles the inspiration! And not only that, you can also have the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul Journal wherein you can write your own thoughts and experiences! I'm telling you, this book is definitely not to be missed!

The Little Prince
Author: Antoine de Saint Exupery

I just love this book! It's a really cute story about a little prince (duh) from an asteroid, who, on his adventures, met different kinds of men, though also somewhat the same. This may be a philosophy book, with lots of inspirational quotes to think about and analyze to get to the depth of the meaning, but it's really a touching story, which would make you laugh and cry at the same time. Who knows? It might even change your perception of life!

The Great Gilly Hopkins
Author: Katherine Paterson

A nice story that's touching yet also sort of funny story about an orphan girl who's been toughened because of her life who was used to being passed around by foster parents. Then finally, she was given to someone who stood by her even with all the attempts she made to be the worst child ever. Here, she'll see that things are not always like you expect.

So Far from the Bamboo Grove
Author: Yoko Kawashima Watkins

This book is one of the most touching stories I've ever read. Some people might get bored with this, but if you read on, it'll get to your heart. You'll feel the sorrow of being taken away from home, and losing your family. The hope of finding them again and having a new, happy life despite the sad scene all around you. At first, I thought this wasn't exactly a very entertaining book myself, but believe me, just give it a chance and you'll like it.

Sati
Author: Christopher Pike

In this book, you'll learn philosophical stuff in a sort of entertaining, not boring, way. I didn't like it all that much, but it's OK. It gives you something to think about. Some parts were boring though. If you have nothing else to read, try this book.

A Wrinkle in Time
Author: Madeleine L'engle

I love this book! It's so cool! It shows time travel and space travel, and about hope and anger and freedom and wisdom and sorrow and joy and "fitting in" and being different... and oh! It's just wonderful! Some parts are hard to understand, like the scientific stuff, but if you're a good reader, you'll catch on. This is a four-chronicle book actually, but I haven't read the others yet. I'm sure they'll be just as good though!
