BY ONE OF THE HENCHMEN

Another Parliamentary General Election is forthcoming, scheduled to be held on the 10th of October. Sri Lankan Parliament was dispersed on the18th of August.The ruling People's Alliance govt has started its General Election Campaign with violence. The targets of their attack has been the JVP activists.
PA supporters and ministers' henchmen have assaulted JVPers on the night of 19th when they were pasting propaganda posters for the JVP Special Congress to be held on 23rd of August. One of the victims is killed owing to the assault using a pistol. Several of the JVP Electoral Offices have been burnt or destroyed.
INCIDENT 1.
On the 17th between 10-11pm, JVP members U.G. Ranjith
and Indunil Thusitha were assaulted by the driver of PA Chairman to the
Nagoda Local Council, and some other supporters. They were threatened and
attacked when they were pasting propaganda posters for the Special
Congress of JVP.

INCIDENT 2.
On the 19th at about 3.30am, the JVP Electoral Office at
Maharagama was burnt down by unknown PA supporters who came by a Hiace
van.

INCIDENT 3.
On the 19th at about 5.45am the JVP member of Kotte
Urban Council Sarath Pathirana and his supporters were pasting posters
near Ananda Girls' School, when they were assaulted by a group of about 30
men who came by a Largo van and an Elf van.

INCIDENT 4.
On the 19th at about 4.30am, JVP members Priyantha
Amaratunga and Somasiri were pasting posters "near the Dehiwala
Police Station", when they were assaulted by a group of people came
by a Pajero registered, 57-5599 and three other vehicles.

INCIDENT 5.
On the 19th , JVP members Chammika Sudantha Silva and
some others were pasting posters "near the Kirillapone Police
Station", when they were assaulted by a group of people came by a
Pajero. The attackers carried sphisticated fire arms including pistols.
They have shouted, "We are S.B.'s( S.B. Dissanayake Minister of Sport
and Youth affairs, newly appointed General Secretary of SLFP) men. We have
just begun action." After threatening they have assaulted JVPers and
comrade Chammika was seriously injured on his head and taken to the
hospital where he expired.

INCIDENT 6.
Two of the JVP members riding a bicycle were assaulted
near the Lumbini College and the bike was destroyed.

INCIDENT 7.
JVP members Gamini Sarath Kumara and others were
assaulted by PA supporters who were pasting posters posing G.L. Peiris the
Cabinet Minister of PA near the Sethsiripaya Building, Battaramulla.

These attacks are clear to be operated according to a plan on the same day at different locations.
NCIDENT 8.
On the 19th at about 1pm, Jeyaraj Fernandopulle Deputy
Minister of PA with his supporters has come to the residence of Mr. G.
Lionel Perera and threatened him either to quit working for JVP or leave
the land given by PA govt. The mimister has threatened, "The piece of
land is given not to work for JVP. Leave within 24 hrs or I'll
see!"
Then later at about 11pm Nandawansa Silva, the secretary of
Deputy Minister has come with some others and given the same threat. They
have given death threats to the family members.
