Kavana plans comeback after break from charts
Kavana is planning to make a comeback early next year.
He enjoyed hits in the mid-1990s with hits Crazy Chance and Don't It Make You Feel Good.
Kavana has been living in the US for the past three years.
He has been developing a new sound and writing material for bands like BBMak.
Kavana says: "I'm still not the greatest writer but I'm writing with a lot of great people and still trying to find my sound."
Before UK fans get to hear any of his new material, he intends to relaunch his pop career in the US.
He says he plans to keep clear of the latest R 'n' B fad.
"I love soul music but there's nothing worse than a white soul boy," he says.
"I'm currently working with Alanis Morissette's producer Glen Ballard and we're doing some really interesting stuff.
"Hopefully it'll see the light of day.
"I always thought I should be up there with the big guys but I'm too young. I need to kind of fill out my CV, if you know what I mean. I need to put the work in first."
Among the songs Kavana has written for BBMak is their forthcoming single Unpredictable.
It is released on October 8.

Kavana 'set for role in Pet Shop Boys' musical'
Former teen pop star Kavana could be in line to take over the lead role in the Pet Shop Boys' West End musical, Closer To Heaven.
The singer was spotted at a performance of the show just a week after revealing he was in talks with theatre producers about taking the part.
Kavana is being tipped for the role of Straight Dave, currently played by Paul Keating.
