Ken, I've always found you to be an enthusiastic supporter of liberty.  I've
got an idea that I think could bring in many new members to the LP.

We should reduce the membership rate for college students to $10.

Now that will cost the LP a few bucks.  And you'll have to reimburse those
state LPs that have unified membership.  But it's a darn good investment.

And here's another idea: Advertise this deal in The Restoration.

I talked to Steve Dasbach already.  The LP NEWS and The Restoration will
have an ad exchange.  But I said to him, "Do you really want just a generic
ad in The Restoration?  After all, this is a specific target audience."

He told me that the membership rate was LNC policy.  So this is where you
come in.  I am sending a sample copy of The Restoration and a letter about
the proposal to every LNC member (you, too).

It's my hope that you'll consider this proposal seriously.  I've talked to
libertarian students at libertarian-sympathetic at schools from across the
country.  Many consider the $25 fee prohibitive.  If you drop it to $10, you
will get more students.  Students who will be regular dues-paying members
within a few short years!

In the meantime you'll have a roster of students you can use to set up
libertarian clubs!

Please let me know what you think.  You should get the proposal in a few
days.  I hope that it can be voted on for the December LNC meeting.

For liberty in our lifetime,
