Pedro Diniz picked up 3 points in 1998, one at Monaco and two in Belgium, to add to the four that he had already accumulated in four previous years of F1 driving. Despite this, his move from Arrows to Sauber will give him hope that he can prove himself to be more than just a pay-driver with a large personal sponsorship behind him. Last year the Arrows was blatantly uncompetitive, but this year his partnership with Alesi could reap dividends. He made his F1 debut with the now defunct Forti team in 1995. 1998 Fifth place at Spa equalled his personal best. 13th in the table at the end of the season. 1997 Finishes 5th in the Luxembourg grand prix, committing himself to the Arrows team for a further two years before the season finishes. 1996 Races with the Ligier team, claiming 15th place in the Drivers' Championship after finishing 6th in Spain and Italy. 1995 Makes his Formula One debut with Forti at the Brazilian grand prix but fails to finish in the points. 1994 Finishes fourth at Estoril while driving with the Forti Corse Formula 300 team. 1992 Competes in the British Formula Three Championship with Edenbridge Racing. 1991 Makes his British Formula Three Championship debut, driving for West Surrey Racing alongside Rubens Barrichello. 1990 Makes his debut in the Brazilian Formula Three Championship.
