| HISTORY | HIGHLIGHTS | PICTURES | RACE TIMININGS | OTHER GPS | CARTOONS | The Japanese GP is been on the racing calender
since 1987 and is the last race of the season and generally proves to be
one of the most exciting races if the championship comes down to the wire
which it has in the last few years. The unique thing about the Honda-owned
track is that it is in the shape of a figure of eight which is the only
circuit among the F1 circuits to have this.It has long sweeping curves
and a "spoon corner" which has to be negotiated in 1st-2nd gear. The R130
flat-out left-handed curve before the pits is one of the most challenging
in the world. The circuit is 5.9Km long and a total of 53 laps has to be
completed to decide a winner.Wing settings are set to obtain medium downforce
on this circuit.
