Imola has hosted the San Marino Grand Prix at the circuit for some time now.Located in north-central Italy in the principality of San Marino, Imola provides one of the most atmospheric race days anywhere in the World. Following the deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger in 1994, the Imola circuit in San Marino has undergone many changes in the interest of safety. This circuit used to have much flair and exitement but due to the modifications it has lost it a bit. This brought revision to Tamburello, Villeneuve and Variante Bassa which have now made the circuit a low-to-medium speed track which requires a lot of heavy braking. Medium downforce is required and teams usually have stiffer than normal settings for stability when braking; as such, this can hinder grip.
